Last season, Marcus was suspended for a twitter post.

What did Marcus Bagley say?
Marcus Bagley says Arizona State suspended him for tweet ...

“ATHLETES please please please make a well thought through decision where you go to school,” Bagley tweeted. “These people will tell you anything to build you up just to tear you down.”Nov 30, 2022

This was directed at coach Bobby Hurley.

So do we want Monty coaching the summer league team to get to know the young guys? Or are we fine with Silas running the show this summer to let Monty focus on other things including getting his team of coaches and assistants ready to go for training camp.

Probably won’t be either Monty or Silas. If Monty brings Jarrett Jack from PHX, I could see him getting the opportunity to coach the SL team.

I would rather not have a SL team and just have a 10-day mini-camp with rookies, and sophomore players and Motor City Cruise players and try outs. Basketball is so so bad in the SL.

Ivey should get a couple games in. Duren should play in all of them. No other vets. Both 2-way players, both draft picks of course. The Euro stash.

Duren and Wiseman.
Wiseman needs to get some confidence and erase that eeyore attitude when he misses a shot!

Also, do you want the new coach (assuming we hire someone before July) to coach the summer league guys as well to get to know everyone? I know this task is often left for assistants but I'm wonder if you would want our new hire to coach the young guys.

Duren (19) - He's younger than most incoming rookies, would it be wise to let him go and work on his offensive game?
Cade (21) - Normally would be a no for sure, but with him not playing basketball for so long its a maybe just for a game or two?
Ivey (21) - 2nd year but had a ton of minutes as a rookie not sure if it makes sense or not.
Hayes (21) - 4th year
Stewart (22) - 4th year
Wiseman (22) - 4th year, but has had limited NBA minutes
RJ Hampton (22) - If we retain his rights, he seems likely to go even though its a 4th year
Livers (24) - Seems old enough this won't be too beneficial at this point.

Everybody including Cade

The Pistons have never particularly valued the in game experience that comes with summer league. Even our rookies have generally played 1 or 2 games for the most part.

There’s value in the training time I’m sure.

He moved up into the EuroLeague after spending his first three years in the LBA and the results were.... not good. Don't think it's time for the Pistons to spend money to buy him out of his contract quite yet.

Balsa Koprivica is still out there too!
