New CBA and effects on our offseason

I was reading an Athletic article on the Knicks and it hit me that we might kill it in trades w BB and Burks this summer. From the article:

At least some of the league’s most-expensive teams (particularly the ones who are concerned about exceeding the second apron in 2024-25, when all those regulations mentioned up top become far more punishing) will try to dump future salaries this upcoming summer. For those organizations, flipping someone with two years remaining on his contract for someone with only one is a victory.

With this in mind, does this have an effect on your offseason strategy?

BB with a cheap 2nd year buyout is basically an expiring. And Burks is expiring for sure. So who are good players w 2 years left on capped out teams that we might be interested in?

There are several teams that likely won't be able to sign their guys to big deals unless they clear other $$ first.

Like the Hawks will want to dump John Collins in order to be able to re-sign Murray and also give Bey a near MLE type deal in 13
months.

Will Miami still look to clear out Duncan Robinson's contract? Or do they look to move on from Lowry?

GSW talked about keeping their core together for just one more year, but likely will clear salary before the 24/25 season.

The Wizards have a massive amount of money tied up and their new GM likely will have to money some of those bigger contracts out.

Even a team like Toronto looks fine now, but if they end up keeping their main guys and give FVV nearly $30 and want to resign OG and SIakam as well they are going to be in trouble starting next summer as well.

The Clippers are probably the one team that doesn't care about paying a ton of money for everything.

On the flip side, will we see some of the big expiring contracts this year be used in deals to land players for teams wanting to shed salary?

Tobias Harris $39 million expiring to land a second star in Philly? Perhaps a Beal type?
Klay Thompson's big contract.
Gordon Hayward's large deal.
Draymond Green

Lots of $20+ million expiring contracts that could move around this season. Or you could see a team like Philly keep Harris' contract in hopes of the Embiid + Maxey duo helping them sign FAs in the summer of 2024.... Obviously a lot of Philly's situation depends on what they do with James Harden this summer.

I don't have a off-season strategy lol

In theory the 2nd apron and the penalties that come with it could present more opportunities for us but I'm more inclined to believe teams won't be giving away their studs and instead will be moving other guys.

Boston as the example: Choice will likely have to be made between Grant Williams & Gallo. And can they really afford Smart, White and Brogdan?

I guess they could move Brown instead but that's just another decision they have to make.
