ESPN - Pistons swapping for #10?

Post#1 » by theBigLip » Wed Jun 14, 2023 1:04 pm

Some trade scenarios could be in play for the Pistons with the No. 31 pick as well, for example, packaging Bojan Bogdanovic for Tim Hardaway Jr. and the No. 10 pick, sources tell ESPN. -- Givony

Are these “sources” real? Next two years of THJ - $17,897,728 $16,193,183

I like BB, but #10 is enticing. With that, maybe get Whitmore at 5, Hendricks at 10? If Hendricks is gone, it would still give us a shot at several other interesting prospects.

It would be a GREAT trade IMO. Next would be to trade Burks as both THJ and him play the same position.

lol, that's a no brainer and in no way rooted in reality.

Sounds pretty fantastical right, but I'd be into it.

If weaver flips bojan for a lottery pick, he should get gm of the year. It's not happening though.

I’ll bet there is traction on something though, maybe we have to throw in another 2nd rd pick and a 2nd rd swap in 24

The Mavs would be fools to do that IMO.

But hey, would be great for us if it happened. Not holding my breath.

You don't say where exactly on ESPN that's coming from.

Ah okay. That puts it in the realm of speculation. That's what those mocks are all about.

Agreed. And we all know nothing seems to happen until 24 hours before the draft, and most action happens during the draft, so rumors at this point are just that.

Good to be part of the rumors though - it means Weaver is on the phone doing his due diligence.

I'll do it. If Miller drops to 5, then we trade Bojan for the 10th pick and then we draft Hendricks! Sheesshhh!!!

That would be an incredibly lucky haul. I'm for it.

Something like that. Maybe Stewart or Livers? I'd really be open to anyone but Cade, Ivey, and Duren to get #10. Maybe toss in a Bagley for Bertans swap? The Mavs could use a center and Bertans is even more overpaid.

Bogs
Bagley
Stewart
#31

for

Hardaway
Bertans
#10
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

I'd be shocked if we traded Beefstew.

I don’t think Hendricks gets past Indiana at 7. But if somehow we came out of the draft w Miller/Hendricks, that would be perfect.

I don’t think Stewart is going anywhere but maybe we take on more salary.

There is no reason to include Stewart in this trade. You can move one of the big men, not two, and its way to much for #10.

Bojan
Bagley
Hampton
#31

THJ
Bertans
#10

Works just fine, and adds two shooters to the team along with the pick. Works for Dallas as Bagley would fit nicely next to Doncic, and be a huge upgrade over Powell.

Having two lottery picks is big, as both can be packaged to perhaps move up, or land a really good player in a sign&trade, or trade.

I am still firmly in the camp that the Pistons just won't be picking @5.

That looks pretty awful for Detroit. Why are they taking on Hardaway and Bertans?

I wonder if we can get #10 for Bojan and then #19 and Kuminga for #10
