Harrison Barnes

Why he isn’t a target for the pistons he’s a good vet SF that can shoot and play defense he’s a unrestricted free agent

I really think nets match all offers for Cam Johnson and Grant is going back to Portland

He's too old IMO for our young core to give a four year deal to. I don't mind spending our money on a vet but would prefer for them to be under 30. He is probably coming off his best few year stretch. A four year deal for him would be at age 31/32/33/34 and those are usually downswing years. We also already have an older vet forward in Bojan. Plus, Sacramento is likely going to want to keep him as well.

First choice: Sign Cam Johnson. Nets don’t match all offers. They would need to dump some salary to match.

Next choices: anyone under 30

Late choices: at the end of FA when guys like this don’t have a deal, maybe, but one year w team option for second year, and in $10-15 range.

I wonder if cam johnson might be a sign and trade option. Give them one of the extra bigs.

If they know we’re going to overpay, they just might. Bagley would be a nice dump.

I am not an expert on their roster to know if they need a big like bagley. But thats my thoughts too. They get something instead of having to either pay and cut or take nothing for losing him.

Barnes is more of a four these days. He can get some time on the wing but if you're investing in him to do that most of the time then it's going to be a disappointment.

Rather throw 30 mil at Cam and hope Nets don't match

I view 30 for Cam the same way I view 20 for GWilliams. ie crazy talk.

I know we need wings. I’m sure we’ll draft one and likely sign another. I just don’t see the point in a big overpay for a non-difference maker. These guys are solid players, particularly Cam, but there’s no reason to believe they’re able to handle a larger role with their limited skill sets. These guys are non-creators that shouldn’t be paid like they are. They aren’t Jerami or Mikal.
