Poor Weaver. Sounds like he’s getting tortured every time he has to do this.

Didn't it sound like Derek Lively is going to be a Piston? Lol

My read of the situation is that Ausar Thompson is our pick at 5.

Kevin Ollie was an OT Elite coach.

I like it.

Amen and Ausar were both a part of Steph Curry's camp and are from Oakland... I think the Warriors want them

You know Weaver is really good at the talent evaluation part, because he’s not very good at the this part job.

The Thompson twins stand out in the curated highlights … but isn’t this a high school camp? They look bigger and stronger than everyone around them.

I’m not sure if people understand the value of 1 extra year of brain and body growth in basketball. It’s literally an unfair advantage.

Playing UP is the best and most common way to actually get better in youth basketball. Playing DOWN (reclassifying) is the best way to make yourself look better than you actually are.

That added to the fact that they play for a marketing organization that started as a YouTube channel… it just makes me pause and consider if Troy is about to get bamboozled.

I’m not saying they are bad players I just think they are overselling themselves in a very slick way and it seems very carefully thought out.

Cam is 18 and physically overpowering seniors and going against set defenses designed by NCAA coaches.

Thompson twins are running circles around kids younger than they are in run & gun style basketball with minimal real defense.
You need 2-way wings, 2-way shooting bigs, and you can't allow low iq players on the court. Assist/turnover ratio is crucial. Shooting point guards are icing on the cake IF they are plus defenders.
Weaver & Casey, govern yourselves accordingly!

As bad as weaver is at public speaking, I do think he’s being overly cautious about what he’s putting out there. I think he is very considered when he answers any questions as to not give anything away.
I’d love to know what the real answers are to these questions

I know that it has no bearing on his ability as a GM but he has to be the worst public speaker that I've ever seen. It almost sounds like he's going to cry when he speaks. Maybe it's just a case of him not being a fan of pressers and is a lot different behind the scenes because I can't imagine him speaking like this when he's in communication with other GMs.

Yeah, very pointless to do a presser at this point.

Here’s hoping he works his magic like he did last year when he pulled Duren out of a hat.

The one thing Weaver has is that 2nd round pick. That sucker, because of the apron, is far more valuable right now, then it has ever been. 31, is just outside of the first round.

I know it sounds strange, but that pick could be moved for a first rounder, just due to that.

Yup when I was younger I had problems speaking infront of a crowd and I'd have that shaky voice with tears in my eyes even tho I wasn't sad. May be he's the same lol

At some point enough reps will get you comfortable to be able to at least look like you're not in excruciating pain while being interviewed. How Weaver hasn't gotten better at it in the last few years is the biggest mystery of his tenure here
