Happy draft day!
Heres prayers and hope that weaver and his team make solid choices to help return the pistons to their perch as a thorn in the leagues side as the team the league hates thats winning titles.

Re: Happy draft day!
Hopefully the last one in awhile picking this high, but I say that with zero confidence.
Hendricks or bust!

Re: Happy draft day!
It’s days like this that manocad will be missed most.
Can’t wait to see what weaver can do and the other craziness. It feels like one of those years that some big moves get done

I'll predict Killian Hayes is not a Piston after tonight.
Weaver = Hinkie

The special part of draft day with Weaver is you legitimately have no idea what he'll do. I mean the least likely thing is that he drafts number 5 and 31 and does nothing else.

Weaver has surprised us every Draft.

Yup. Him landing Duren last year is a top 10 Pistons GM move of all time.Sort wrote:The special part of draft day with Weaver is you legitimately have no idea what he'll do. I mean the least likely thing is that he drafts number 5 and 31 and does nothing else.
I cannot tell you just how shocked I was that he made it happen. I was down because Ivey was the pick(did not want him. Still on the fence even with his play at the end of the year. Fit with Cade is still a very real concern)but when that deal happened, oh man was I happy.
I am placing low expectations on this draft, as another miracle like last year is very unlikely, but if he somehow manages to draft both a PF(Hendricks) and a SF(dick) in one draft, ill crap my pants.

Whoever we end up drafting will get my support, at least during their rookie campaign! Remember, as much as we might have our favorites, we really don't know who's going to be any good until they hit the floor!

Killian to Washington for Tyus Jones or Monte Morris. The way Washington is going we can probably get a pick coming our way as well

Re: Happy draft day!
I've got to wonder why Weaver called on Harris, if the reports are true. Harris is a SF, so is that signaling that Weaver intends to draft a PF?(Walker/Hendricks)
I am a little mystified by that piece of news, and not quite sure what to make of it.

I get the feeling that both wing spots will be filled tonight

Re: Happy draft day!
Harris would be such a weird add. I mean he is a massive expiring after next season, but how does he fit? Bojan would most assuredly be gone in that trade, so;mike06181 wrote:zeebneeb wrote:I've got to wonder why Weaver called on Harris, if the reports are true. Cade
Ivey
Harris/Pick
Harris/Pick
Duren
??? The 5th pick, if he's any good has to start on a 17 win team.
I dont know. I just don't want Harris back.

My gut tells me its Jarace Walker or one of the Thompsons twins. My gut isn't always reliable tho

Re: Happy draft day!
Harris would be a good dude vet to have here, but not at the price Philly wants reportedly. Weaver probably called thinking he'd sin eat so Phillybcould keep Harden with less tax bill.

Predict or hope?

I think he’s got one more year.

Re: Happy draft day!
I don’t get Harris unless we deal Bojan away.
And yeah, I assumed we’d get something for taking him on. He’s expiring but crazy overpaid.
Trying not to get too hyped. We might not have as active a day as many hope.
I’d love to see us leverage our cap space today. I don’t think free agency is the right way to go. I can’t see the Nets letting Cam walk, even if he chose us.

I like the thinking but along w Hendricks, but as a second late Lottery pick, I’d rather have Wallace or Bufkin (to replace Hayes), or a long shot wing who would play D better than Dick (Miller, Coulibaly, Whithead).

Re: Happy draft day!
Trade the 5th pick for a proven player in his mid 20s who can play on both ends!
Excited waking up to a big trade and hope we make good moves tonight.
