Exciting player, plays the game the right way. High ceiling but also quite a low floor. Super stardom hinges on his ability to develop a trusty jumper. Seems like a guy Monty will love for sure. Lets get to work!

I agree a lower floor but higher ceiling player that some of the other guys projected in that range. He's athletic and great in transition but how will his game transition to the NBA will certainly be interesting to see. If he's a gym rat and willing to put in the work like a Bruce Brown/KCP/Aaron Afflalo then I think he'll end up being a very good pick for us in the long run. It's a high risk high reward type pick for sure.

Maybe I'm way off its so hard to tell because these are not college highlights and so much was run and gun from the youtube videos I saw... I'd love to be wrong and love to see him help out right away but it feels like he's going to after to get after it like Herb Jones on defense if he wants to get PT due to his lack of offensive skillset.

Ausar seems to present and speak really well. He's also shown willingness to work on his game to get better, in particular his shooting mechanics.

I'm happy with this pick

In retrospect there was a lot telegraphing this pick.

I’m not upset. We’ll see how it goes. The fit might not be perfect but if Troy really thinks this guy has the best chance at being a star let’s see how it goes.

You also have to wonder how much of this was a Kevin Ollie sell job, who obviously was very involved with those twins the last two years and almost leveraged it into a head coaching job with the Pistons. Weaver obviously has a great deal of respect for Ollie, who by all reports was his head coaching pick if we couldn't get Monty.

Not much I think.

We didn’t even pick Ollie.

At the end the report was Charles Lee was plan B.

Weaver didn't call him. He found out when Silver said his name. Weird.

I'm excited to see what he brings. Hes a older prospect, the shooting, and the comp he played against is obv concerning. That said he does have high ceiling. I've never seen on tape or head anything that says he has a low basketball IQ or anything. Its for sure the type of pick that could hit big or completely whiff.

If you watch the video about him and his bother, if very much is a Venus and Serena Williams type of upbringing where there dad took them to the courts everyday and worked out like crazy with them since they were really young. His dads plan was for them to be pro basketball players before they were born. Certainly interesting to see how some guys can handle a life where its all about a sport. You get a feeling they still have goals beyond just getting drafted and hopefully they both are players that work out crazy and want more than just that first paycheck.

Does he slot at the 3? Do we think he and Bojan start together or one comes off the bench?

He's the same size as Whitmore and everyone had him slotted at the 3

Well, he is a Pistons player so we just hope he becomes special. Good athlete and good defender.

For what it’s worth he’s the same height and weight as Saddiq, who started alongside Bojan and was often considered the power forward.
