He's got a great offensive skillset, but not sure he's what'd we be looking for and I think they'd want a lot of assets for him. They gave up so much for Gorbert I'm not sure what exactly their plan is if the fit doesn't seem to work better this year, but they gave Utah so many of their picks that they can't afford to trade for lesser pieces like Bogey/Bagley/Stew.

Sure if you want to give them Duren and Ivey or something. KAT is a big softie but that poo poo platter isn't getting it done.

Re: KAT?
I don’t consider him that positive considering his contract, so I wouldn’t offer any more than what was proposed. But as mentioned, another team will certainly offer more. Doesn’t mean that will be smart.
That being said, this seems like an impatient move. We will get a chance to add 1 or 2 big salaried players in the next few years . KAT’s salary is so high that it would “have to” work out otherwise our rebuild is ruined. I’d pass.

I couldn’t agree more. He doesn’t strike me as a winner.
I personally wouldn’t want him at any price so any deal that I’d propose would be quickly outbid by some dumb, desperate GM.

Re: KAT?
He doesn't play defense and echo the sentiments that he may be a big question mark if he's actually a winning player. Those bad years in Minny can make any mentally tough player into the gutter though
But the bigger issue likely is the fact that Minny traded an absolute star-worthy haul to get Gobert. I think they'd at least ask for a similar one as a starting point

Re: KAT?
Minny really messed up with that Gobert trade. Just looking at Towns stats, his offensive impact got split in half from a All-star level impact by moving him to the 4.
Either way a guy like that usually gets traded for a good young player and multiple 1st (which we cant offer) so you can bet they would want Ivey to pair with Ant.

Choice USDA prime pick between Bagley or Wiseman though!

Re: KAT?
Wolves would laugh at that offer unless at least 3-4 first rounders were added (which we can't do anyway given the nature of our traded pick to New York). Also I don't think he fits well with Duren and in general just doesn't seem to be a winning/culture player. Would pass.

Re: KAT?
If you believe this team can jump to contender status by adding KAT, you don’t add him. To add KAT, we would almost have to add Duran as a center piece of a deal. I’d be open to moving KAT/Duren if we saw the overall cost. If he is the superstar big and we could do it without BB, Ivey, Cade, maybe we do it. I dunno. It seems like a lot to risk.

Re: KAT?
I feel like part of Piston Pete’s discontent with our offseason stems from unrealistic trade expectations. The Wolves won’t trade him for that.

Re: KAT?
At this point I say either offer a decent contract to PJ Washington (if we still have the money to do it) and see if Charlotte matches. Or just try to make some deck chair type swaps to make the roster a little better balanced.

I pity the franchise that blows their cap on that guy
Talent isn’t everything. For all those on the board that love the dog in Jimmy Butler, this guy is the opposite.
