Power Forwards

Post#1 » by SuperBad » Fri Jul 14, 2023 12:31 am

The best thing I can come up with so far is trading Burke for Kyle Anderson.

I’ve also tried to come up with ideas Marcus Morris and Covington
For Burke, wiseman, and ??

Or bigger move to get Siakam.

I’ve always liked Kyle Anderson, I wanted him since he was drafted, the contracts fit, he’s 29, he can give us more options as well on the court than most players. I’m surprised he doesn’t make more money.

I have searched for PF targets - looking for good stretch-4 guys. This is the list I came up with:

Christian Wood is the only FA still available I’d have any interest in (UFA)

Cheap guys we might be able to trade for:
Jaylin Williams (OKC)
Zeke Nnaji (Denver)
Santi Aldama (Memphis)
Jalen Johnson (Atlanta)
Tari Eason (Houston - would cost us the most)

What do you Tari Eason would cost? Imma huge fan of his and Houston have multiple young forwards but what they would ask and what we could give I’m not sure

Eason the best dude on that list by a long way but doubt we have the assets they'd want

Why isn't Trey Murphy from the Pelicans on the list?

Not much out there thats available and within a reasonable price range.

We probably won't get a long-term solution there until next off-season in FA or draft.

Ask yourself what it would take for a team to get your interest in a Duren trade and there's your answer.

If we can't get Eason there's no way we're getting Murphy!

We just don't have the assets for either of them

I left him off my list cuz I don’t think he’s a realistic target, doubt the Pels trade him.

Was thinking something centered around Bogey for Eason (and cap filler) might be good for both sides.

They could run:
FVV
Green
Bogey
Smith
Sengun
+Amen, Brooks, Whitmore, Porter off the bench.

But I dunno, I tend to over-value our guys…

I love Eason, I just don’t think we have a chance on him yet. Anderson could play 3 and 4. I think Burke is not a bad deal for them, it will cut some costs for next year and give the a offensive weapon behind edwards, I think J Mcdaniels is ready for more on the front court too.

Thats just so far away from reality as a trade Pete

I dunno, most of what Houston has done this offseason suggests they want to win now. Bogey for Eason would be a win-now type move that fits the rest of their offseason.

Again, I listed other guys who I think would fit in well here who are much more “getable” than Eason. Maybe think up something for one of them.

Think ausar might get some pt there, seems he might excel too listening to how springy he is from peoples comments. In todays nba makes sense I think. He plays sf/pf for us.

I think so too, the other day he blocked a 7 footer at the rim and we've seen him with springs on hos feet going for rebounds.

What about this trade?

Pistons get: Murphy+Hardaway Jr.

Mavs get: Bojan

Pelicans get: Avdija+Mavs future 1st+Wizards future 2nd round

Wizards get: Bagley+Hayes

(Nevermind the salary matches at the moment)

I'm really hoping we can just get ahold of OG somehow (in FA preferably)

Or one of the young guys like Ivey or something becomes a oddman out and we move him for a talented 4.

Like maybe Ivey doesn't gel with Cade while Duren, Ausar and Cade look like future max players. Could then cash in on Ivey for two starting levels players (SG and PF) with a pick.
