Cade. Ivey. Ausar. Which One Do You Trade?

Post#1 » by MortSahlfan » Thu Jul 20, 2023 8:06 pm

Let's assume we get equal trade value.. I would trade Ivey. I can see Cade and Ausar co-existing well, but all three? I don't think so.

Can we wait till they play 1 game together before we decide?

Let's see how they look in the first half of year two before we make any decisions. Cade likely has a much, much higher trade value than Ivey so if you're getting equal value you're getting someone like Evan Mobley back.... If you're getting equal value back for Ivey you're getting someone like Keegan Murray back.

Cade you have to pay a max contract to and Ivey might end up getting paid a lot less.

Cade is going to want a 5 year $200+ million extension in 11.5 months.

Ivey of these three. Jazz fan offered Taylor Hendricks for him.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

All 3 are likely staying for the next 5-6 years. They’ll get extended for sure and we can afford them. They won’t go away because they’ll be worth their contracts and it’s better to keep them and trade them. Ivey is the odd man out since the other two are better two way and all around players. If I’m the pistons I’d keep all 3 for 10 years.

None. Yet!

Haven't seen Ausar in a real game yet & Cade has only really played 1 season. Sane for Ivey.

The same people who are complaining about us being terrible for 15 years are also the ones wanting to speed up this rebuild.

We've had 3 seasons of this FO - I season was lost due to Cade's injury. But yeah nah we gotta push for the play in right here and right now!

Cade better show out this year if he is asking for the kind of money already. He's only played one full season (@64 games) and this team hasn't done nor won anything yet.

Or is the NBA now like the Oprah show where everyone gets a max deal just for showing up?

Based on his potential coming into the league, you know another team (especially a bottom of the league team with a lot of cap space) will take a flyer on Cade at/near max$. Wiggins got the max after scoring inefficiently in Minny... Cade could put up an inefficient 24/6/5 this season with 4 TOs per game, the team could win 27 games, and he'd still be expecting Detroit to step up with a max contract extension IMO.

What the hell? How about none of them. Ya know, actually lets see them play a game first before selling off a young core member. Jeez

And I rather read predictions now before they play/prove.

Why not a "None of the Above" option for the poll.
That would be the overwhelmingly correct answer.

Where is option four?

We don't know how any of them play together. The last thing we should do is trade one before finding that out.
