#4 - Pistons-Mavs

Post#1 » by MortSahlfan » Fri Oct 20, 2023 9:48 am

8pm

It's on Ballys, but for someone like my cousin who lives a few miles away and switched cable companies, who suddenly don't have it, try the NBA League Pass Trial.. It's how I saw the OKC game and a few others that weren't televised last year.

A win would be nice.. 3-1 hopefully have our guys expecting to win.

Bojan and Morris are day-to-day as of 10/19

W or L doesn't really matter here. At this point it's more about refining the end of your bench and figuring which guys make the cut. Main thing for our starters & core rotation guys is just staying healthy.

82 games is a long season; there will be plenty of time for all that other stuff.

Can't imagine the main guys play many/any minutes. Who the hell thought a back-to-back in the preseason was a good idea?

hopefully the minute distribution is similar to yesterday, pretty much everyone played in the 15-20 minute range. i know it's a back to back but they have four days of rest before the season opener. there are so many moving parts in the rotation that they could use the extra time to build chemistry.

Would be nice to see what Bojan or Morris look like in lineups but I'm not holding out hope that either will play in the preseason.

Ivey is frustrating me. He does some good things on offense, and then he give up a bunch of uncontested 3's on defense.

Stewart is just terrible.

Ausar alread had a bunch of rookie mistakes but at least he is trying super hard especially on defense.

Cade had a couple of in and out misses.

I have absolutely no idea why Duren was bringing the ball to the offense, WTF is Duren our PG now? He is trying super hard and had a bunch of very good plays on both sides of the floor.

I like Cade/Duren/Ausar a lot. Ivey and Stew are a complete disaster.

I’d like to give Ivey & Stewart a season with Monty before I come to any conclusions.

They both have flaws but with their positive work ethic, I think they can overcome their issues.

Nothing like pooping our pants in public right before the season starts. Hopefully we got it out of our system.

Just watched the game. Stewart has probably 20 games then Livers will be starting if hes healthy. Stewart just doesnt space the floor. He passed up on probably 4-5 open 3's and went 1-4. He's above avg defensively but he makes cades job so hard bc its NO space for him. Doesnt help that Iveys not a shooter either.

Hopefully we get the best shooter in the draft and sign Siakim next year.

I’m still not losing hope for the season based on that game, but they looked pretty bad.
I’m keen to see how the rotations work out to start the season. I don’t see many clear winners for the bench spots.
