Game #3 Bulls@Pistons. Home opener.

Post#1 » by zeebneeb » Sat Oct 28, 2023 7:01 pm

When: 7PM EST

Where: LCA

What to watch for.

Can the Pistons go 2-1 to start the season for the first time since 2018-19?

Will the trio of Duren/Stewart/Thompson continue to rule the boards with an iron fist?

How many blocks will the team have tonight?

If the Pistons win tonight, and do it playing the way they have, oh boy. Things are gonna get lively around here.

With both on B2B, I hope the younger team has the edge with legs.

Bulls had the earliest "players only" meeting ever - after the first game of the season. They did win game 2.

Will we be wearing those ridiculous DET uniforms again?

I actually like em! I wish they had an alternative white version with black lettering.
Honestly, pistons need a rebrand with their on unique D like the Tigers

We should win this game, and if we come out of the games 8-2 or 7-3, the guys' confidence goes up (shots go in) and they start to learn how to win, and expect to win. We have 3 guys out and only lost in Miami by a single point.

Let’s temper our expectations. 8-2 or 7-3 would blow my mind.

With the tough schedule, I’d be thrilled to play 500 ball and be competitive in all the games.

True, but Miami made The Finals, and we almost beat them on their home-court. With Bojan, Monte, and Livers, I'm sure we'd be much better. But I'm seeing a new team because Monty is actually giving minutes to guys who play defense. He said in his presser, "I believe the best offense is the best defense" and with a young group of guys, we need to score in transition. Our bigs are putting pressure, scoring or drawing fouls.

I've seen enough in the first two games to not give up on the entire team if we happen to lose by double digits tonight. Anyone else?

I just want a 5-5 start. That would be awesome.

And a win tonight, of course.

Extreme overreactions only please. If they win I'm starting a thread on who should be cut out of our 10 man rotation to get it down to nine for the playoffs. If we lose I'm starting a "Monty's seat is getting hot" thread.

Miami's offseason was a disaster, they're not the same team that made the finals. But yes, we're playing better than anyone expected.

Chicago has defeated the Pistons 15 consecutive times... that's pretty crazy because its not like Chicago has even been a 2nd round playoff team the past four years they have won well less than 50% of their games played we just haven't beat them since Weaver took over.

'Man, seemed like Ausar forced LaVine baseline where Duren was waiting, but at just that moment Duren (for whatever reason) moved outa position and gave a free path to the basket.

Good, so Stew is playing center and Duren PG. We need to find a way to stop LaVine.
