Game 5 Blazers@Pistons.

Post#1 » by zeebneeb » Wed Nov 1, 2023 1:20 pm

Where-LCA Downtown Detroit.

When-7PM EST League pass/Ballys

What to look for:

Can the super young Detroit Pistons bounce back from a sloppy, disjointed performance in OKC? Young teams usually respond to an embarrassing performance well, and as this is at home, against a bad Blazers team, I expect a robust start.

Who to watch: Cade had a horrendous start, with a little better finish. I expect Duren to dominate Ayton for coach Monty, and can Ausar keep up his torrid defense, and specifically shot-blocking?

Tune in to find out!

#1 is Hayes still in the starting lineup?

Stew vs Grant (can Stew keep this matchup close?)
Ayton vs Duren (can Monty give Duren types on how to attack Ayton's defensive weaknesses?)
Sharpe vs Ausar (Can the rookie have another solid defensive outing and slow down Sharpe?)

Scoot has looked bad in his first few games, will he finally have a break out performance against Detroit?

Will the Pistons crowd show Billups some love?

Dude, you're fired up again. You were all doom & gloom for a minute. Strangest thing ever.

Looking forward to a good game. Lots of great young talent on that DET squad.

I was hoping and expecting this to be one of the first replies. You did not disappoint. Jroy have it all.

hopefully duren suits up, not sure i can handle watching bagley play 30 minutes and wiseman even stepping on the court.

should be a good matchup though, both young squads and it'll be fun to see stewart guarding jerami grant. he's had a slow start to the season and hopefully stew keeps it that way. assuming hayes guards scoot and ausar guards sharpe cade should be able to save a ton of energy guarding thybulle.

When did Duren get hurt? Was it during the last game?

Not particularly looking forward to the 2023 debut of Wiseman getting minutes.

No Duren hurts a lot. With him, I'd think we have the clear advantage, but without him it's a lot more dubious.

Yes, twisted ankle landing on someones foot off a rebound, looked pretty bad, but I think he kept playing through it.

Well, watching a team with actual talent, and a real coach will do that.

It's been a minute since either one of those things were true.

Winnable game, even without Duren. Need to take care of business.

Welp, we’ve been stockpiling centers for a while now. Time to put it to use.

I’ll be in attendance. Definitely disappointed if Duren isn’t available.

Will get to watch this one. Cade should be able to dominate rookie Henderson expecting a big game from him.

I know that there's lots of injuries/load management around the league these days but it seems like the Pistons have been particularly hard hit the last few years. When did Duren even get injured?

We should just dump him and Livers as they are never healthy and bring back Diallo and Okafor who are much more available health-wise and 'compete'. Availability is the best -ability and skills and other things are much less valuable.
