Lets say Gores comes to his senses and decides to tear down the entire organization to the studs, who would be on your wishlist to run the team?

I would love to somehow get Bob Myers to come in and take over, but I think he wants to chill and collect that ESPN money for a bit. Im not the best with front office personnel so I would love to hear what y'all think.

The first person to recommend Zeke needs to get their head examined :P

Top 4 choices for me would be:

#1 Obama
#2 Myself
#3 Grant Hill
#4 Tayshaun Prince

Honestly, its hard to imagine how even a group of fans could do a worse job.

My biggest complaint is the cowardice, and lack of accountability.

How there has been zero movement, or conversation is unbelievable, so the next front office has to have an accountability mandate.

I don't trust Gores, so in the end, anyone he selects will be just as bad as the cronies and losers he had in place now.

The conversation starts, and ends with Tom cowardly Gores selling the team.

Tearing down to the studs? So would that include firing Monty? Because who ever the next GM is would have to be in line with Monty or he’ll just nuke that team too.

I would leave that up to the new PoBO and GM but yeah. Just hit a reset on the whole damn thing.

I don't think some realize how much innate leverage Monty has with that albatross contract and length Gores stupidly paid for trying to force him here. The new GM would almost assuredly cannot fire Monty on a whim without Gores signing off. And Monty really doesn't care either way if he gets fired or not since he's getting most if not all of the money regardless

We may have as well have made Monty the de facto GM at this point in terms of player personnel and development. What's the worst anyone can do? Fire him? He'd love that either way and retire to be with his family while on company dime

Treat it like any corporate job:

1. Make Casey GM with no raise
2. Have Casey fire Monty
3. Have Casey coach but don’t give him a raise
4. Casey coaches and is GM for the cost of a consultant

Bing?

The courtroom was nearly empty when Probate Judge Daniel O’Brien flashed a smile and said, “Before you leave, Mr. Bing, I have to ask you. What’s going on with the Pistons? They’re terrible!” Bing replied, “Yes, they are and it's shocking. I’m going down there tonight. I really hope they can beat Utah. I’ve offered to mentor some of them. They need leadership.”

O’Brien said, “It can’t be the pay. Even a second-string guard makes, what, a million a year?” Bing chuckled, shaking his head, and said, “No, 3 million.” He added, “I never made that much in my whole career,” and turned to a reporter with a smirk. Looking back at the judge, he went on: “They make plenty of money — maybe too much. That business has become all about the money. These days, it’s just all about the money.”

Interesting interview. Gores definitely was vague on some things, but it's clear that apart from the lip service of putting blame on himself that he definitely thinks this is on Troy. However he's going to give him a chance to right the ship rather than fire him soon.

I'd expect that there will be a lot of trade activity in the next couple of months, but pretty much all of our players are at their lowest value right now so what can we do?

It was basically, "it's my fault...but also Troy" kept emphasizing "Troy & I" so it doesn't look like Troy will be fired anytime soon but is on some type of notice. Really hope the lip service about the emphasis and patience on how young the guys are, are true and not demand some sort of panic trade to get that average age up just for the sake of doing it

Also amusing how he side stepped the question alluding to Arn Tellem and his son having a voice in the org. Just fire those two, it's not hard

“If you put aside winning” was the wildest thing he could say.

Tom Gores is literally William Clay Ford reincarnated.

It’s insane to say this in the midst of a historic losing streak, but darker days are ahead for this franchise.
