As a reminder, he is a .161% three-point shooter.

Personally, I think he needs to keep shooting them because he MUST become a 30%+ shooter to have a future in the NBA. He shot that from the NBA line in OTE and then shot 38% on pretty high volume in the playoffs, so there really is no excuse for him to be as bad as he has been. I think he needs a game where he sees 2-3 go down, and he'll start to feel more confident in the shot again. I'd rather he do that now than when the team has a chance to be good. The only thing worse than a guy who is a bad 3 point shooter is a guy who literally is scared to shoot at all (Ben Simmons).
The main issue is that it can't be the only thing he does on offense. He needs to be the roll man in P&R's and they need to run plays to get him lobs, etc.

normally i'd agree with you but he's struggled so much from 3 that it could tank his confidence too, on top of making it hard for us to run an offense. he's made 9 3s this season and i'm pretty sure he has more airballs than that.
i do agree that he should at least be involved in actions as a screener where he's more of a threat.

Gotta at least be in the 34 percent range.

Herb Jones great D, athletic, top 10 defender in the league starts and averages 10.6 PPG shooting 33% from deep on his career (a bit lower this season).
If we could get that from Ausar I'd be fine... a better rebounding Herb Jones would be solid for us. He's just got to be elite defensively and make about 1 of every 3 open corner threes and he'll be a solid positive impact starter for us.
