-Pistons officially announce Brian Adams has been hired as an assistant coach
-Pistons guard Alec Burks is questionable for tomorrow’s game against the #Warriors due to right hamstring soreness.

-Other than Stewart — who has and continues to have real interest from rival teams — and Bogdanović, who else on this roster is netting you difference-making veterans? I’m not sure trading Stewart and Bogdanović gets Detroit players better than either of those two, which is a main reason I think there could be some hesitation.

We have a decent chance here. GSW are starting Curry, Klay, and Chris Paul, coming off a heartbreaker to Denver. Those old legs can't do 30+ minutes on back-to-backs. While we can't say definitively that our starters are better than their scraps, I think we can give them fits if we use our young legs and athleticism. Keep the TOs down, guard to the 3pt line, get out in transition, lots of running off screens in the half court, contest everything in the lane (i.e use the fouls), and this could be our 4th win.

Pistons have zero shot here, unless Cade plays even better then he has been;

PAST 10

28.6PPG
8.7APG
4.3RPG
.409% 3-point
.525 FG%

He will need to have a 40 burger for the Pistons to have a shot.

My interest has cooled since I realized that nothing of any substance is going to happen this year, and think ill just be checking the box scores.

Don't expect anything out of this game. Warriors just got embarrassed, so they are going to come out and put the wood to Detroit. 20 point loss minimum, but it could get embarrassing. Think 40 point loss here.

Fair point - we need ~120 to beat GSW. Who else is scoring 20 today other than Cade? Bojan maybe, but he might be pretty sore today after Wednesday's slobberknocker. It'll take Cade >35, Ivey >20, and someone else to surprise us with 20 to get it done today.

For the record, I am not opposed to Siakam, but at what cost is the question.

Edwards is sucking up to Weaver by putting this “teams have interest in Stewart” nonsense out there. Nobody wants to pay sixty million dollars for an undersized backup center. Look how well the offense has been since he went out with the injury.

If a team offered an expiring, and nothing else, it’s a great opportunity to get that horrible contract off our books. Problem is Weaver and his ego would never take the deal, because that would be him admitting that his first three draft picks were all complete failures.

And we still owe a first rounder for this one……. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Sounds good. But can Monty keep our teams young legs on the floor at the "right time". That right there, is the real question my friend!

I actually would like Siakam (i just thought the video was hilarious). But I have a nervous feeling we'd trade for Kuminga (who I would NOT want). Constantly playing other team's leftovers - Bagley, Wiseman, etc. or drafting busts. Maybe the high pick is like Rotten Tomatoes. They SAY it doesn't matter, but it subconsciously affects the final decision (whoever is making it)

Now this sounds about right.

This is the type of decision people should be ready for;

Lottery tickets, instead of known quantities.

James Edwards: Detroit will make a trade before Feb. 8. I’d bet good money on it. My feeling is that the Pistons will bring in a veteran or two in an attempt to try and right the ship down the final stretch, but I haven’t heard about anything being close to done or on the table as of now.

As Livers is likely to start and get big minutes again, let this sink in...

Among 282 qualified players (at least 15 GP and 15 MPG), Isaiah Livers is:

282nd in Net RTG
282nd in DRTG
282nd in TS%
258th in REB%
256th in AST%

I'm opposed to Siakam. The price for him will be higher than the price for OG, and it's a worse deal for us because we have a lower chance of retaining him.

100%

Also, if we don't trade for him a four year max we could offer him this summer is closer to $42, $44, $46, $48 instead of the 5 years $260+ million dollar deal he is looking at if we trade for him and use his bird rights.

I'm fine giving Siakam a max deal this summer if he's coming from another team but I'm not ok trading decent assets and then giving him 5 years $260+ million.

Somehow we cant get minutes for Ausar but play Livers.

Neither can shoot but Ausar does everything else much better than Livers.

Bojan has way too many careless turnovers for being a vet
