Look Kilian isn't that bad, he has a role as a 3rd string back up somewhere, but as a fan I really do not want to watch him play for the team I root for anymore.

Meh. I really hope we move him and someone else gets to check his "potential". He's looking a bit better this year , turnover rate improving, a bit more confident on that pullup, and a decent defender. But it's year 4 and he's finally up to 40% from the field and still under 30% from deep on low volume. He's still only 22, but I just don't see a big leap coming for him at this point. He just doesn't have a scorers mentality.

He'll get one more shot (hopefully on a different team), but he needs to really show progress there.

Bad Google translation, you should read "the French point guard" instead.

I wouldn't hate him at the minimum for a year to be our 3rd string PG, but I tend to agree ideally we find someone else.

I'll be supper bummed if we give him the QO to keep him a RFA and he takes it for $9.94 million after not getting any better offers. Would suck to have him eat up $10 million of our cap space.... I'd also be bummed if Weaver offered him something like 3 years $21 million to stay Cade's 12-14 MPG backup.

Monte Morris was a pretty clear declaration of no-confidence. We did not pick him up to be our 3rd string PG behind Cade/Hayes. He was the clear upgrade to CoJo and should have pushed Hayes to the end of the bench.

Killian’s capable of a good game, rarely a good few games, and once a good six weeks. The thing is, any non-developmental player (ie getting steady minutes) in the NBA is capable of at least that. Killian has improved, sure, but not to the point of being an average NBA bench guard. I think he’ll get there by say, age 25 (?), but there’s no reason to give him anything above 3-4 million a year and no reason to guarantee him any minutes.

There’s just so much damn dead weight on this roster. Hayes, Harris, Bagley, Wiseman… and that doesn’t even count the highly marginal guys that wouldn’t get playing time on 80% of teams but do here because we suck so bad.

Just let Killian go. If he finds a new team and becomes decent, good on him.

It's time to move on. While I was hopeful when we initially drafted him, missing Haliburton has clearly hurt this franchise

At least he is smart enough to understand that.

Sekou complained about the coach and his role, and he was out of the league 1 year later.

Alexandre Sarr and Zaccharie Risacher are both projected to be top five picks this summer, and they are both French so I suppose if one of them ends up being the guy the Pistons take keeping Killian for the minimum might make a little more sense.

No reason to keep him it's a bunch of guys can be 3rd string pg and do it much better.

Killian ain't staying anywhere unless he improves a great deal. He utterly lacks the fundamental skills necessary to play point guard (or any position). A third-string who can't do the basics isn't right for the job.

For all that he's gotten chance after chance after chance after chance after chance for the Pistons -- he should not have been in line to play minutes this season after his outrageously bad play the last two seasons -- he has rarely been better than a truly awful producer in the NBA.

Sasser wasn't a capable lead handler in the NCAA as a fourth-year player. It was highly unlikely that he was going to be one in the NBA.

That's what made the pick so weird: he's an undersized shooting specialist. He's too small to play up the lineup, but he can't lead an offense.

The front office positioned Killian to play third-string point guard in case of a single injury to Cade or Monte. After his last two seasons, he should not have been in line for any minutes at all.

He ended up starting thanks to a combination of inept management and incompetent coaching. Even as recently as three games ago, Monty couldn't resist bringing him in for two key late-game defensive possessions (both of which he blew horribly) even though he's nothing special as a defender.

I think it's best for both parties to move on, Killian for a change of scenery and to try carve out a role somewhere, and for us to find a better bench PG that can shoot and fits our team better. In Detroit he will always be labeled the lottery pick bust whereas someone else he can just be a bench rotation guy with less pressure.

He's nowhere near good enough to be a bench rotation guy for anyone but a tanker, and why would tanker even bother giving him minutes?

I'm not sure if the average Pistons fan appreciates just how incredibly bad Killian has been so far and how horribly incomplete he is as an NBA player.

We can’t overpay anyone. We have cap space, let’s not f it up.

Hayes for the min? Sure. But he still has a lot to prove to get a real extension
