I'm not surprised by this to be honest. The world championship roster was missing a lot of the highest caliber players from its roster. The Olympics is simply a bigger draw to these guys. Add these guys in and there's just not room for fringe players of the WC squad.

And Cade simply hasn't done enough for a long enough period of time to earn that distinction. Hopefully his body of work is large enough for future world championship squads and in 2028.

Speaking specifically to the inclusion of Duncan Robinson - clearly he's there singularly because of three point shooting. If he ends up making the squad it would only be to shore up inefficiencies of the rest of the selected squad. It doesn't mean a guy like that is better or more valuable than Cade is.

It's somewhat surprising because Cade was so highly regarded previously for his play this past summer on the select team, but not surprising when we haven't seen Cade stay healthy and play winning basketball his first three seasons. I've got no problem at all with 0 Pistons on the list.

Grant hill not pushing Cade onto this list disappoints me. He deserved a spot over a lot of those guys, most notably Reaves, Hart, Johnson, and Robinson.

it looks like the entire world cup roster was brought back and given a chance to earn a spot for the olympics. i guess that's why players like hart and kessler are on there.

i don't know if cade declined an invitation or there were other factors. he seems to be a great fit for fiba ball at his size. or maybe grant hill was just salty because cade turned down the national team spot last year, who knows.

Y'all are actually hurt by this?
