Monty's done experimenting

Post#1 » by flow » Thu Feb 22, 2024 4:29 pm

From yesterday-

"I'm not going to be throwing certain combinations on the floor just to see how they look. We're done with that. We'll be competing."

Not sure what he means by this. Guess we'll see. Probably means 30 mins of Fournier, as I predicted.

This sounds terrible. Fournier 25 minutes incoming, if that happens monty fired next day? Like holy **** if he does do that.

No idea what this even means. And even if I did I wouldn’t believe it’s actually what he’s going to do.

He says thing to the media that he outright contradicts when we get to the game all the time.

After the first two thirds of this season, I have no reason to think his competitive lineups will make any sense.

So glad we waited until after the All-Star break to start “competing.”

I swear he’s trying to get fired

I really think that based on punting last years cap space and seeing all of the injuries at the beginning of the season coupled with the losing streak, the organization made a decision to use this as a development year without regard for wins.

I’m not a Weaver or Monty apologist but I’d rather be in our current position than lock in to bad deals.

He has the most power in the FO since he's getting his money regardless of how he performs. He's not beholden to try new lineups or to stick with ones that work as he's been showing all season

What a disaster of a hire

I think the expectations will be dramatically different next season.

He’s had this year to tinker with rotations, get familiar with the roster and let players know what they need to focus on improving.

I expect 2 significant veterans added to this group with the cap space and another top pick.

Doesn't look like he is done experimenting and it doesn't look like they're ready to compete to win either.

Same old BS

Why is Flynn getting minutes?

There’s really no purpose.

He’s not better than other options and I pray that he’s not in the plans to re-sign.

Maybe we should experiment a little more.

Why is Sasser treated like this?

He only got 10 minutes and made the most of it.

There’s no reason that he couldn’t have gotten an extra 10 minutes considering there were 21 minutes between Milton & Flynn.

That’s really frustrating. :banghead:

Yeah, to me the time to stop experimenting is when you've found something that works. We very clearly have not.

He is the most idiotic coaching hire we have made in the last 2 decades. Kuester and Curry sucked but neither got paid higher than any coach ever (at the time) with a long 6 year contract.

I've said this before but hes not going to get fired after just one season. Were not a team like the Bucks where the expectations are we compete for a title nor even a playin for that matter. Were a team who in the past 4 seasons has won 20,20,23, and then 17 games.

Gores begged the guy to come here, made promises to him and his family, and backed up the truck with guaranteed money to get him here. Hes going to get at least one and likely two more seasons to turn it around. We have a crappy and flawed roster hes going to get a chance to have a say in adjustments and getting players he wants to coach in here.

Weaver will be gone before Monty as thats who built the awful roster. I doubt we even fire Weaver this year. Likely Weaver next year then Monty the year after. That said if we just completely show nothing ROS and end up with like 13 wins Weaver could get axed.

He is an imbecile but we the bar is super low. We had like 5-6 guys in a row that were a joke as coaches.
