Clippers have traded Westbrook to the Jazz and the Jazz are expected to waive him. ... Should we claim him off waivers?

Normally I'd want nothing to do with Russ but you certainly can't question his peak/prime worth ethic. Former MVP but I'm not sure he'd be happy to come here as an out of the rotation mentor to our young guards.

Westbrook does share an agent with Cade so if Westbrook doesn't want to come here its fairly unlikely that we would claim him off waivers.

No please. You can sorta sell him on a contending team.

He'd be a distraction and a problem here. Let him go to Denver.

No. He’s been “on his way” to Denver for quite a while now. All you’d be doing is ticking off a veteran player. If this was forcing Denver to waive a young player not named Zeke, I don’t think so because I’m pretty sure this puts them at 15, then absolutely think about claiming that player.

Even with as washed as Westbrick is, he still wouldn't come here. Detroit has zero shot at even bums(Beverly), so a washed former MVP is absolutely out of the question.

The team has to start winning games, and have a winning culture to have a chance at signing these types of players.

Hopefully, this season, some kind of progress is made, and the team looks like it's on the upswing. I know that seems like a stretch, but at some point, the team is going to start getting better. Law of averages tells us this.

It isn't just that we sucked last year.

We have a reputation among players as not trying to win. That's a stigma that needs to be shed.

This guy is not what I want any player learning from. His ego probably cost thunder a chip with Durant. After he left being “the man” he sucked. Selfish player imo.

Obviously no. He’s a ball dominant guard that can’t shoot and has a massive ego. Also, he would absolutely pitch a fit if a lottery team claimed him.

No I want to watch him play with Denver, that should be interesting, let him play for a ring, we dont deserve a veteran that’s played at that level in the league unless they want to come here.

If we got Westbrook, he'd immediately fall off a cliff.
