I work out wearing a hoodie pretty much daily, though not with the hood on unless I'm jogging outdoors and it's raining.
I want to overheat some and gen some sweat equity, but avoid puddles of sweat. It's a little padding for collisions, too.
One thing I liked about Michigan's Fab Five was how they loosened up basketball fashion (but the '89 team did it better).
I'm not opposed to what Bickerstaff is going for, but traditional basketball garb is short-shorts, belts, and wool jerseys.

Hated the hire from jump, and stupid stuff like this isn't doing anything to change my mind.

It makes sense to not wear a hoodie in practice. I think it’s fine if the hood is down. If you’re wearing it, I agree it’s not a good idea because it throws off the focus, prepares you for something different other than the game and our players can’t afford that.

Stopped by to see what substantial issues were under discussion today and was not in the least disappointed.

It's a small thing and is a little odd but I like this, a little accountability of which the previous few coaches showed little of.
The Country Club atmosphere needs to end, time to put on the work boots.

All I know is if some dude was wearing a hoodie playing ball against me, that mfing thing is coming off cause he is going to need to be less restricted with me guarding him. I cant believe players
Practice vs other players wearing a hoodie

So the rule doesn't ban hoodies, just wearing the hood part during practice:
Scattered around at the various practice hoops were players in the more traditional practice jerseys and shorts. A few wore sweatpants, and at first glance, a couple wore Nike-issued Pistons hoodies. But the actual hood sewn onto the back of the sweatshirt? It was resting on the shoulders of every player wearing one, per Bickerstaff’s new rule.
i think it's fair, keeps some semblance of professionalism.

Yeah I don't have a problem with it.
It feels like wearing a hoody while playing is something that could give practices a less professional vibe. Small things like that don't have a huge impact on their own but they can add up.

Man, some of y'all are acting like dudes were wearing suit coats, skinny jeans, and wingtips on the court.
Hoodies are "active wear." They don't restrict movement, and most of them nowadays have that moisture wicking technology so they don't cling when they get damp with sweat.
This is as nothing as a nothing burger gets. Coach should be worried about a lot more important things than this. This is not a culture building type of policy, this is just a guy wanting to get rid of something insignificant that he personally doesn't like.
