Not including when we were 0-0 to start the season, will the Pistons be .500 at any point this season?

No we will not. I actually think this was our last shot at it against the Bulls. We’ll have to win the next two games otherwise it’s gonna get harder as the season goes on.

I think we'll stay in touch for a while but ultimately won't achieve it. Will end up around 35 wins when all's said and done.

Our next 7 games are mostly against middle of the road NBA teams so its our best chance. After that, things get tough with teams like Boston/New York, etc...

We are currently 7-9

So we likely need to go either 2-0, or 3-1, or 4-2 within our next few games here or I don't think we'll get there this season. Our best chance to get there is the remained of November. I also don't really know what our middle of December looks like because who we play will depend on how we do against Indy and Milwaukee coming up.... If we win those games we'll be playing against other teams that advanced in the CUP so we'll likely be playing against really good teams there too instead of getting paired up against other losers.

@ Charlotte Nov 21
@ Orlando Nov 23
vs. Toronto Nov 25
@ Memphis Nov 27
@ Indy Nov 29(Cup Game)
vs. Philly Nov 30 (Back-to-back)
vs. Milwaukee Dec 3 (Cup Game)

The answer to that question is undoubtedly maybe.

It's possible, but not likely. It's going to be a mixed bag as the youngsters learn how to play consistent, winning basketball.

Also, we are 2 games under with Cade playing every night. It would be great if he stays healthy and plays all 82, but that's not typically how stars are treated anymore in the NBA.

The East absolutely sucks this year, more so than normal. We are 7-9 and in the 7th seed. We were the 5th seed a few days ago...

Why can't we be .500 at some point?

we might not finish the season at .500 but i think we'll reach there at some point. with a top 10 defense (who would have thought!?) we have a good shot of being in most games.

We've had a tough schedule to start the season; we're at 7 - 9, and it should be reasonable to expect significant improvement as the season goes on, so it could be argued that it would be logical to expect us to hit .500 at some point.

On the other hand: would I think it more likely for us to have a ten game winning streak, or a ten game losing streak? I think probably the latter.

We're 7-9. Problem is that we could play .500 ball for the rest of the season and never hit .500

That said, I think this is a play-in team, which won't include having a .500 record overall in the crappy east. I wouldn't be surprised if we never hit .500 this year.

The Pistons are well ahead of anyone's expectations of them so far, so I wouldn't put it out of the realm of possibility, but it would be a huge deal if they could be 10-10 after the 20 game mark. I personally had them at 5-15 after 20.

The best chance to hit .500 has passed, but, the next two games against the Hornets(road) amd Sixers (home) are the next best. Losses are gonna start piling up at some point, and after that it will become next to impossible.

We're currently 15-18 sitting three games under .500 and three of our next four are against tanking lottery teams. This might be our best stretch/chance to get there this season as things get harder in mid to late January.

Hornets (7-25) HOME
TWolves (17-15) HOME
Blazers (11-21) HOME
Nets (15-18 but have begun selling players) ROAD
Warriors (16-16) HOME
Raptors (8-26) HOME

Need to see what this team looks like without Ivey…

On the face we seem to have a major playmaking deficit at the very least.

My biggest concern is not going to be the teams performance. I think it'll be fine to be honest. Defense will improve, as there are more minutes for Holland/Ausar.

Its the ball handling. Not playmaking, not scoring, but ball-handling. Teams are going to be aggressively trapping Cade early in possessions. Doesn't matter that the best 3-point shooter is starting next to him. I believe teams will weigh Cade running an offense, VS Beasley hitting 5 threes, and come to the same conclusion I have;

Hard trapping Cade repeatedly=win. No threat of Ivey getting to the rim, or cutting, and Cade getting him the ball. No threat of another ball handler.

Let's see how fast Bickerstaff adjusts to this, as well as the players. Tonight will be ok, but against good, or even mediocre teams, whew boy.

Am curious the last year both Lions and Pistons finished .500 or better (in same season)?

2016.

Neither won a playoff game that year.

Gotta go all the way back to 1991 to find a year both teams won a playoff game in the same year.

Before last year, 1991 was the only time the Lions won a playoff game *in the Superbowl era* so you're not gonna find too much crossover on that one. :-P
