We look very mid. Lots of league average type stuff, but all markedly improved over last season. Being 3rd in fast-break points, but 16th in pace is sorta interesting. You'd think that maybe means we're jumping passing lanes except we're 23rd in steals. We're a better rebounding team than I would have thought, but it sorta correlates with both higher than average fast-break and 2nd chance points, which is how this team needs to score outside of Cade being the franchise, so I makes sense.

Agree w Cow we are very average, but coming from historically bad, this is all good stuff. And we still got a lot of our rotation on rookie contracts and the only guy signed to big money is a young legit AllStar.

Curious what next year’s stats will look like

Our offense is weird, really.

In the half court, for 36 minutes a game, Cade dictates EVERYTHING. I’m sure he scores or assists on 70% of our half court offense, and a good portion of the rest is second chance or broken play stuff.

But Cade isn’t a great transition player because he isn’t that fast and can’t burn himself out pushing pace like that. For that, we have Ivey (for a time, and again next year), Ausar and Holland. The fast break is a bigger chunk of our offense than it is for most teams because of those three elite athletes getting out and running.

You can have an offense with that kind of dichotomy, but it isn’t easy. It’s good that Cade is a good rebounder and can throw some of the outlets himself, because that sort of bridges the two styles together. But it’s still a little weird.

Cade's just fine on the break, imo. We're really good when we get on the break, we just turn it over too much and don't force enough turnovers to be on the break as often as we'd like.

I think the most notable (and most surprising) improvement this season has been the 5 points better in defensive rating per game. Head coaching change and player buy-in is a huge part of that, imo. The additions of Holland, Tobias, and Reed, move of Stew to back up 5, and growth of Cade defensively have been some of the other biggest factors in the improvement. Also, while our offense isn't incredibly better, just having better spacing and fewer dead possessions with zero good looks like we had in the Killian, Cade, Stew, Duren, Ausar line ups, has helped us to slow the other teams from getting into their offense with mismatches, imo. We just need to cut down our turnover numbers a lot.
