Lets see where the team is at. I have zero expectations for this game, except for Cade, who usually does well against them.

Good effort, be competitive.

I won't rule us out. But I won't panic if we lose either.

Boston is going to want this more, and certainly won't be overlooking us this game due to the fact that we're on this win streak. I feel like there's about a 90% chance we take an L is this one and a 10% chance we get the W.

You go into every game like that lol. I get it, Pistons fan PTSD, but this team is pretty good.

With that said, it's hard to tell how good they are because they've had an incredibly easy stretch of games during this winning streak so the next two will be a good gauge to see if they are more contender or pretender. I'm not expecting wins against Boston and Denver but good competitive games should be the bar. If they do at least split these games, there will be a rocket strapped to their hype level on a national scale.

What is an easy stretch for a team that won 14 games last year? The same team just swept a 4 game road trip, and are 17-13 on the road!

I am just sitting, waiting for the bottom to fall out. PTSD is absolutely the correct term, even though I see them becoming a good team, every single game.

Even though I watched this type of rise before, hell I even mentioned it in a different thread, it's been so damn long wandering in the wilderness, it gives me pause. No matter how many stats I go through, I await the 28-game losing streak.

Again.

Yeah, I do say this every game. Hard to break a habit of that length.

Hi everybody! I´m from Spain and support this team from 2003 to now, i love Ben Wallace.

In my opinion, we should enjoy each and every game this year.We are not at that point of...let's see if we win these and lose those...We have come from the most absolute **** since...perhaps the hiring of Charlie Villanueva... with the exception of Griffin's push.

We are a very young team, we need to continue growing as a team, making mistakes to grow without forgetting (for next year) that sometimes growth is not exponential (look at the Celtics).

So What I expect from these guys is what they have been doing all season, working hard on defense (AUSAR IS A **** ANIMAL) every single possession, playing hard, intense, physical and showing up every night.

The games we have lost against the Cavs and Hawks have been with baskets over the horn, because this team competes every day, it doesn't matter if the game is 140 points or 100 and guys that is a blessing.

It's time for us to enjoy ourselves again after this journey through the desert. Greetings!

We have been playing as well as anybody in that 2nd tier, but if BOS brings their A game there probably isn't much we can do. We'll see. Should be a good game.

For tonight, I just want us to play a good game. Let’s be competitive and show we can play w the elites in the league. And if we come up w a W, that would be awesome. Double so because I really hate the Celtics to the core.

I get it to an extent, I'm still skeptical that they're for real in terms of being a true playoff contender but I personally don't get the fan mentality of "waiting for the bottom to fall out". I don't know, that just seems like a rough way to being a fan in the midst of a season in which the team is engineering the best turnaround in the league with a young team that has plenty of growth potential ahead of them so I'm personally enjoying it even though I'm skeptical of how good they really are, for now.

We're #1 in the league in dunks.. We have to attack them. Only good 3's. Defend and run.

We can beat this team.

The Pistons have an assortment of really good stats since Jan 1st. The ones thats stand out the most are;

Tied for 5th in steals-9.0
5th in rebounding-46.2
1st in fastbreak points-20.4
5th in points off turns-19.3
4th in points in the paint-55.2
4th in opponents offensive rebounding-10.3
5th in opponents defensive rebounding-31.1
4th in defensive rating-109.9(Celtics 5th-110.1)
2nd in rebounding percentage-52.7%

These stats tell a very important story. The Pistons are a great fastbreak team. The Pistons do this by making sure they secure the rebound, and making sure they don't allow opposing teams to hurt them, or their fastbreak. The Pistons also are a great fastbreak team because of their defense, which is not usually the case.

This is truly a clash of game styles tonight. Since January 1st

Pistons #1 in fastbreak points.
Celtics #30 in fastbreak points.

Pistons #4 in points in the paint
Celtics #30 in points in the paint

Gonna be really interesting game, for sure.

Boston shoots a crapton of threes, and it’s from every position. They’ll be tough to beat in a series, because they have a hard offense to deal with and a good defense as well.

For a single game, though, they can go cold. Depending on threes makes that unavoidable. Maybe we get a bad night from them.

The Pacers are the poor man’s version of the Celtics with their barrage of 3’s from every position.

When Turner & Siakam are reigning 3’s, the momentum is difficult to overcome.

Hopefully JB comes up with a different defensive strategy against these type of teams because when their 3’s are falling, it’s hard to weather those big swings.

Why do you think Boston wants it more?
