I fully expect the Pistons to get stomped tonight. Nuggets coming off a tough loss to the Bucks, and will want to right the ship. Now, besides that;

Last game was a game of contrasts. Tonight's game, is a game of similar teams.

ALL STATS SINCE JAN 1ST

Nuggets-#1 rebounding-47.3
Pistons-#4-rebounding-46.4

Pistons-#1-fast break-20.7
Nuggets-#3-fast break-19.9

Nuggets-#1-paint points-60.9
Pistons-#4-paint points-55.4

Now the clear differences;

Pistons-#2-opponents paint points-44.7
Nuggets-#17-opponents paint points-49.6

Pistons-#12-opponents FB points-15.1
Nuggets-#24-opponents FB points-16.7

Pistons-#6-points off turns-19.5
Nuggets-#25-points off turns-15.3

Run the Nuggets to death.

I mean this could happen, but Denver played a tough game late against the Bucks, now have to travel to Detroit, while trying to get a little rest. This is a team that plays their starters a lot (not Thibbs level, but still). It's far more likely to me a scenario like Boston happens where Malone throws in the towel a little early.

That said, I doubt either scenario happens. Should be fun to see Duren and Stew vs Jokic.

Last time Denver crushed the Pistons without Aaron Gordon and the Pistons had Ivey who had a good game. I think if Joker has another great game, very little chance the Pistons pull this one out. Hope coaches figure out a way to slow him down.

I don't understand how, at this point, anyone who has been watching this team fully expects them to get stomped or thinks they have very little chance.

Every possibility they lose, sure. Denver is a good team. But do you know who else is a good team? The Detroit Pistons!

Even the books have us favored. Close game or we blow them out is what I think tho. We’re a good team fellas

If we take a L tonight it will likely be decided in the final minute of the game. Expecting this to be a good one and a close one. I always enjoy watching Jokic play he’s likely having the best five year stretch on any player since 90s Jordan.

It's a superstition thing he's doing. Just roll with it.

Super pumped for this game! We will win if we keep Fontechio off the floor!

Want the win, and want Duren to play smart against Jokic.

Haha agreed, I can't remember the last time I've seen him hit an open jump shot (seriously). I assume its a brick at this point.

Last game, Duren and Stew got in foul trouble. Had to use Reed.

Yeah that’s the biggest concern.

Starting to think this group can do anything though. We’ll see.

Jokic is one of those guys I like watching even when he’s on the opposing team.

Joker is just a brutal matchup for us (and everyone else I guess...) Our defensive strength is letting ausar and holland hound the oppositions point of attack. That's just not how Denver's offense runs. And our biggest defensive weakness is when Duren ends up lifted and having to guard shooting bigs out on the 3 point line. Gonna be a tough test. Our bigs need to stay out of foul trouble and our perimeter guys needs to really play smart against their off ball movement to not let joker pick them apart with.
