Oh yay. Just in time to muck up the rotations for the playoffs.

He's just been cleared for basketball activities, he's probably a few months away from being able to play a game. Unless one thinks that the Pistons are going deep in the playoffs he's done for the year.
Either way, it's a good sign of progress that he's already getting back on the court.

Excellent news. Ivey is the type who will work his ass off, to try and play asap.

Great news, if the Pistons advance and he's ready for the second round, that would be awesome. It feels like the team has played like poo lately and any help would be great.

He's pretty much worked himself into a position where he could come back for game 3 or 4 (at home) in this series.... you know he'll feel ready to go in two weeks when he's re-evaluated.

When looking at the injury reports on ESPN’s website, it was showing May 1st.

Today it was just updated to reflect April 24th.

It seems like that’s the most optimistic scenario.

I don’t think anyone wants to see him rushed back to the starting lineup but he’d be a nice weapon compared to what we’ve had coming off the bench in a limited minutes role.

The team was playing great until the Twolves brawl. Since the suspensions, combined with Cade's and Tobias' injuries, it's been a depleted roster. The 'help' will come in the form of a full roster, which we haven't had the last 8 games.

Sounds great, we need a secondary scorer and legit ball handler asap! Hopefully we don't rush it though, if we need to wait until next season, no worries

Glad he is progressing. I hope they don't let him rush back though. There just isn't time for him to get in game shape, let alone knock all the rust off.

At this stage I really don't think there's any way they'd try to integrate him back. He's been cleared that means he's physically healthy enough to play basketball, it doesn't mean he's in shape and ready to be integrated into a rotation.

He's been out of it long enough that those things are a factor.

I really don't think they were. The record will show otherwise, but I have to imagine they've had the easiest strength of schedule the past 1 -2 months. They have ONE win against a team with a winning record their last 20 games (Cavs). I don't really care that they've been beating teams like the Jazz, Pelicans, Raptors, Trailblazers, Wizards. Since their win vs Boston, they are 1-7 versus teams with winning records - which is going to be the kind of competition they face in the playoffs.

Yes, Cade and others missed some games, but not all of them. Although it's nice to be healthy again (minus Ivey), it's hard to argue the Pistons aren't entering the playoffs on a high note. That being said, a win tonight vs the Knicks - who they likely play in round 1, could be huge.

Agreed. A ton of cupcake teams.

I want Jaden to come back for our last two games and play like crap, to lull teams into complacency.
Then, when the time is right, he emerges in the playoffs as the second coming of prime Dwyane Wade.

I wonder why the bothered to move up his potential return date on the injury report.

I’d personally give him the entire offseason but moving the date up seems odd.

I take his being cleared as more of a medical status update, than him being actually able to play before the season ends. He'd probably be ready in another 3 weeks or so, but it'll be too late most likely.

I really can't wait to see Ivey, Thompson and Holland running down the court together at the same time. The speed is just insane, I hope to god they'll learn to shoot well enough to play together.
