6,167 days since our last playoff win. Or about a month short of 17 years.

Things that have happened since then:
1. Game of thrones started and ended
2. Bitcoin launched
3. TikTok, Snapchat, Instagram were founded
4. The entire marvel universe came out outside of iron man
5. We’ve had 5 summer Olympics
6. You no longer needed an email to get a Gmail account
7. T9 texting was no longer the norm
8. 25 iPhones have come out including the second one
9. Spotify launched
10. Uber and Lyft launched
11. Alexa and Siri were created
12. Same sex marriage became legal
13. All but 4 players that were active in the nba are retired (Lebron, CP3, Lowry, and PJ Tucker

And on a personal note, we were all 17 years younger and I’m sure much much different! Feel free to add your own, “things that have happened in the past 17 years” examples.

Let’s put a bookend to this streak on Saturday.

Insane the amount of time/significant events that have occurred since our last playoff win. That year I was in my last year of high school. Have since finished med school and been working for almost 11 years :-?

I think of it in terms of my own life.

I wasn't a fully fledged adult the last time we won a playoff game in 2008- I was still in college. I've voted in 5 presidential elections since the last time we won a playoff game.

This is literally the first time as a proper adult with a job for me that we've been in playoff games I deemed important enough to make sure I'm home to watch in real time. Our trips in 2009, 2016, and 2019 all felt like forgone sweeps- I still watched them but was a lot more okay with DVRing to watch later.

There are Piston fans old enough to drink who won't remember the last time we won a playoff game with much clarity given they were only 4 years old at the time.

That's mind blowing. Let's hope the Pistons don't keep us waiting much longer.

For this season all that remains is not to have an embarrassing playoff performance. A well-played competitive series will suffice, and any wins will have fans walking on air going into the offseason. Let's hope that streak ends soon, and there appears good reason to think better days are ahead. As always, go Pistons! :hoop:

My daughter drove herself to school today. She wasn't born the last time the pistons won a playoff game.

I'll be honest - I'm amazed that there are any Pistons fans younger than say, late 20s, given the garbage product the Pistons have put out for the last 15 years. Even the derided "Teal Era" (among elder millennial or older Pistons fans) of my youth was quite honestly a veritable golden age compared to the 2010s and early 2020s.

I was 21 last time they won a playoff game. I'll be 40 in a year-and-a-half. Guessing I'm similar in age to Snakebites, given I was also in college.

Things in my life that have happened since the last win:
-Graduated with my undergraduate degree
-Got engaged
-Got married
-Got two cats who were both born and have since passed (R.I.P. Zeus and Igor... my dudes.)
-Got my MBA
-Moved from Omaha, NE to Los Angeles
-Moved back to Omaha, NE from Los Angeles
-Helped my wife start up her dream business: a bookstore

It will be very cool to not have to add to that list after the next week and a half. :D

Aww man, you made me think of my dog, Maslow. Got him, he had his life, died a little early at 12 due to cancer. We grieved for about six months and got another puppy, who is now 2. All since the Pistons won a playoff game.

I got married in 2010 and had a kid in 2016. It's a whole new world since then for sure.

May 26, 2008 was the date of our last playoff win. I was not yet 28 years old. Unreal.
I've bought 4 homes and sold three since 2008. Married my wife of almost 14 years (2012). Owned the best dog, who passed away at age 14 (a couple of years ago). Had a daughter (now aged 7). Made two major career moves. Seen the Lions win two playoff games.
Christ, I'm getting old!

I’ve had 3 kids since then while losing my wife and my Dad. I’m ready to get this win and keep moving forward.

Too true. I live in Michigan, where the Lions (at least until the last 2 or 3 years) are the epitome of this.

Pistons board went from one of the most posted boards on RealGM to much less. At one point back in 2005, had the 2nd most posts overall on all of RealGM. I wonder where all those posters went or if they will ever come back and say whattup! I still miss Manocad and our drunken escapades whenever I was in Detroit or him visiting Orlando. Good times especially the one when he fell down in the street and his pants fell to his ankles. Laughed so hard. But, I did finally finish my degree while working full time and paying for it in cash not taking summers off cuz I could only pay for 2 or 3 classes at a time. Been a while, but I knew eventually the Pistons would be back. Heck, I patterned my ball game after Dumars with some success in 3 on 3 tournaments.
