I want Giannis ...
... Antetokounmpo for next season.
I don't know what it would take to have him on our team, but him and Cade together would be incredible.
Now we'll have all our picks, which makes trading a little easier.

Re: I want Giannis ...
I feel like we'd have to give up:
One of Duren/Stew
Ausar + Ivey + Holland + Picks
We'd pretty much have to sacrifice the youth for a win now move would be super risky like when Phoenix traded for KD.
Stew / BBall Paul
Giannis / Font
Harris / THJ
Cade / Beasley
Schroeder / Sasser
Plus we'd have a MLE $ to add one more rotation piece.
Plus a move like that could absolutely gut team chemistry. Probably not worth it.

We can’t compete with OKC and Houston on a trade

Re: I want Giannis ...
I think I'd rather target an all-star guard, ball-handler, to pair with Cade. I guess that could be Ivey if he develops, but Cade needs a backcourt mate.

I’d trade anything for him. Not Cade tho, sure we will try, but not sure we have what it takes

Re: I want Giannis ...
He's great obviously but I don't like the fit. Giannis needs the ball a lot and he's a lane clogger, I just don't see the fit for a guy like Cade that thrives with spacing.
Plus the cost would be astronomical and he's going be 31 when next season starts with a lot of wear and tear on that body. I can see Houston making a big pitch

Shouldn’t be to much considering doncic went for a 1st and ad. Right? Lol. This is the trade I’m looking at to see how much bs that Luka trade was

I love Giannis but I don’t think he’s the right target.
I also think the team would be too gutted to keep the same feel we have this year around him & Cade.

This. If Giannis wants out there will be a bidding war and we can’t compete on assets.

Re: I want Giannis ...
I luv our team now lol.
Getting ivey back will be huge.
Having Stew.
I think we look at adding another forward to go with Tobias Ausar Holland next year. Basically an upgrade to Fontecchio.
We have Sasser Fontecchio and draft picks to make that happen
I hope we keep Shröder Beasley. We might have to let go of THJr but I'd still luv to bring him and even Reed back for chemistry

Yeah, I’m kind of in the “run it back” and upgrade around the margins crowd.
There isn’t a “star” that’s obtainable without gutting the team.
If there were a buy low scenario like the Mavs getting Kyrie for a fraction of his value based on mild baggage, I’d be all for it but I don’t see a premier player with tarnished value that’s a good fit for this group at the moment.

Giannis isn’t a guy where you worry about fit with what you already have. He’s a game changer.
But we can’t get him, and if we did I doubt we’d have a good shot at keeping him.

As a true superstar/franchise player and 2x MVP he also has some control over where he goes.
I'm going to continue trying to turn ever thread into a Bam thread though. This is the guy we need to target.

Multiple max players handicaps your roster. Look at Phoenix. Besides Giannis is a Super Max player.
No Thanks!!!

Re: I want Giannis ...
I want Cade as our number 1 guy, not playing Robin to the Giannis Batman role.
Upgrade the THJ and Tobias starter roles and run it back. Would love those 2 off the bench with guys like Oubre/Bobby Portis level taking their place.
That plus Stew and Ivey coming back (and hopefully improving) puts us in a nice spot. All our young dudes should have some decent ceiling to grow left….keep the band together while we can afford it.

Kelly Oubre isn’t it. He’s a career 32% 3p shooter and he shot under 30% this season.
I’d love to add Bobby Portis to the group if we can’t get Naz Reid or an up and coming player like Tari Eason or Jabari Smith Jr.

For once can we just be appreciative of what we have in the moment instead of dreaming of ways to fritter it all away?
Can't we at least wait until we are actually eliminated from the playoffs?

He's a game changer but committing to two guys who don't shoot particularly well from deep in a perimeter oriented league that puts a heavy emphasis on shooting threes well signed to max contracts, one being the super max, is risky.
IF at the oft chance they do land him, why wouldn't he stay? Giannis isn't the type of guy to chase the bright lights.
In any event, it's a pipe dream. The Pistons just don't have the draft capital some other teams do to make this type of deal and that's fine, they have something real good brewing here anyway with team chemistry.

Yes, I have already been thinking that if Milwaukee moves on from Giannis, Brook Lopez in the mentorship role for Duren or Bobby Portis as an energy bench big that can shoot would be more ideal than actually gutting the team and future assets for Giannis.
