2025 Draft

No lottery pick this year. Not even a FRP this year. Hard to get excited about #37 pick in the draft compared to the excitement of a top 5 pick.
All that being said, turning draft picks into even role players is a good thing for a team. Youth, cost control, possibility of growing into something beyond their selection. So there is value to this.
Do we try and trade up and increase our odds of getting a real player?
Do we trade out since we have enough youth on the roster?
If we stay at #37, do we focus on PF, backup PG, or go BPA?

Really want that Fleming kid but don’t want to owe a future 1st by trading into round 1.
Brooklyn has 4 1st rounders, so maybe something smaller can happen around picks 26-27.

I like Rasheer Fleming if he's still there. Might end up being a late first or earlier 2nd rounder though. You never really know how much he'll get punished since he's already a Junior and he is going to be 21 really soon.

I've seen his name as high as 11 in mock drafts, but between 21 and 27 otherwise. Looks like we'll have to go for a top 15/20 to secure him. He's a guy I can see Spurs take at 14 or Thunder at 15/24.

Give me the 7 foot Ginger from Michigan in Danny Wolf in the 2nd round and I’d be happy. He’s not going to take the league by storm but I think there’s something there and if he can improve that already decent 3pt shot I think we could have something. I just don’t see us trading into the 1st round given our limited assets unfortunately.

Think Danny’s going top 20, unfortunately. It’s really not a great draft. Heck, it wouldn’t shock me if Minny uses our pick on him.

Sadly, there's not a ton to discuss about pick 37. There's just no way of realistically narrowing down who'll be available there.

Nets and Thunder will be selling a pick if you want a guy that is still on the board.

Around Thiero, I could see him as a possible end of the rotation frontcourt combo forward possibly if he max it out. If you can get that from a second round pick. Think you take it. NBA level defense is there I think.

If we're being realistic, the 37th pick isn't going to be a difference maker. We took Bobi Klintman at that spot last year and he was a non-factor this season.
Now if we package the 37th and other second rounders to move up into the 20s or higher then things could get interesting.

Agreed. There are several articles out there that come to the obvious conclusion that the higher you draft, the more likely you get an AllStar or starter. The second round is possible but not as likely to get a starter. I wonder how many seconds it would take to add to #37 to get a #20-25 pick.

This is my pick right here, longshot but I think he could end up being special.
Obvious cherry picked highlights but he moves really well for his height, seems to have good timing, is a FOUL MACHINE though.

Zikarsky is a reasonable target for us. May go before we pick, but probsbly not before very late 1st round, so we could maneuver to get him.
He’ll be a very limited minutes player initially, but that’s ok. His standing reach is reportedly 9’6.5”, which is ridiculous.

Sweet. Pistons working out Chaz Lanier. A name I'm most certainly interested in at #37 if he's there.

We drafted Mehmet Okur at 38, Bruce Brown at 42, Dinwiddie at 38, and Middleton at 39. Obviously, for each of those there were another 5-6 second rounders that flopped, but there are hidden gems in every draft and overall basketball talent globally is as high as it's ever been.

God I would love Okur on this team. He would kill it in this era.
Seems like some decent backup center options in that early second round range.
Still want a crack at the lottery if Trajan can work some magic. I want that 10th pick from Houston.

Johni Broome participated in an NBA pre-draft workout with the Detroit Pistons 20/05
The Auburn product has now worked out with both the LA Clippers and the Pistons.
