F the Dream Team

Post#1 » by Fennis Dembo » Sat May 24, 2025 4:14 am

Watching a special on the dream team. Isiah Thomas should have been on the team, and Chuck Daly was a bitch for coaching the team without him. Christian Laetner was on the dream team.

Disrespect for the Pistons is not new, and nobody winning an award for a team winning 30 more games than the previous season isn't the first time, and it won't be the last.

Laetner was on the team because there was one spot designated for a college player. The only player he was taken over was Shaq, which was somewhat controversial in it's own right.

But yes, Isiah got screwed. Daly was in a tough spot, but I don't begrudge him for not quitting.

Sports Illustrated did a whole issue beforehand and named their own Dream Team and that team had 3 Pistons on it. Rodman, Dumars and Isiah.

Jordan didn't want Isaiah on the team. Jordan trumps Daly. What Jordan wants, Jordan gets.

Pistons legend Christian Laettner was on that Dream Team. We can't criticize it. :)

As a non-American, I agree. F the Dream Team!

But for real, there were and are always going to be deserving players who miss out on Team USA. That's the nature of the beast and why it is shocking every time they lose.
