Players Detroit has been linked to include Myles Turner, Naz Reid and Santi Aldama. The Pistons are reportedly interested in adding a stretch five this offseason.

Between those 3, give me Aldama.

Hate Indiana too much to ever consider Turner.

Naz will cost too much. More bang for your buck with Aldama. I would still want another big who can play defense since that is definitely not his strength.

I've been on the Aldama train for awhile. He is a possible risk, but he could be an insanely high reward.

Cade
Ivey
Ausar
Aldama
Duren

Is an insanely dynamic starting group, if Aldamas projections in per 36 pan out.

Langdon sitting on his hands isn't really an option, with so many contracts coming due. Gonna have to make a decision, as Tobias, isn't a long term answer.

Soooo, can we operate as over the cap team. Give Beasley the MLE. Sign Shröder to a nice contract with his bird rights. And sign and trade THJr to a big enough contract that adding him to Tobias and Fontecchio adds up to Markkanen? Cause if so, I'm in! Is that legal?
Same 9 man rotation that we had vs Knicks except Stew over Reed , Markkanen over Tobias, ivey over THJr. Fantastic

The offseason, when speculation masquerades as news. Markkanen gives me the vapors due to his injury history. If you think he can stay healthy he'd be a good get, but his track record says that's unlikely.

Asking sincerely, because I don't know: Has he been truly injured, or has he been tanking team injured, because Utah is always jockeying for lottery positioning?

Beasley comment

Based on Beasleys comment (hilarious he uses Facebook)...........safe to say he is coming back. We would have to really low ball him for him to actually leave at this point.

Forgot they played together...gotta love this AI Overview response on Google too:

"Yes, Malik Beasley and Lauri Markkanen played together on the Utah Jazz in 2022-2023, and they continue to play together for the Detroit Pistons in 2024-2025...According to a YouTube clip, Beasley and Markkanen were both traded to the Detroit Pistons in the offseason. "

Sports is really hard for AI.

That's the question isn't it. If he hasn't been injured that much then he certainly doesn't mind taking a day off. There's no question he's talented. Ultimately it's the front office's call. They likely know better than me. Not a very satisfying answer, but I want to thank you for the civil reply.

I'd like Turner... I don't want anyone who isn't a good defender. Kicking the can down the road forever.. OKC have all starting 5 who can defend, and Caruso off the bench. Even when they shoot poorly, they can win. Even the best shooters go cold, but I never saw the best defensive player only play good defense 4-16 times.

I'm still on the KD train until he's traded somewhere else.

I want Jrue. Boston wants one 1st round pick. If Cade is double teamed, Jrue played pg most of his career, and is a great defender.

You don't want Jrue. You want Jrue 4 years ago.

Jrue makes $32.4, $34.8, $37.2 over the next three years he isn't worth giving up a pick for with $105 million due at his age. I would be hesitant to trade Sasser + Font for him straight up if it worked with our cap space. We don't really have a bad contract to give up for him and we could almost certainly find a better use of our cap space at a greater need. Schroeder for 3 years $15-$18 million($5-$6 per year) is almost certainly better option for us for a vet PG. Schroeder will turn 32 just before the start of the season and Jrue turns 35 in a few days. Even if we could get 2024 Jrue for the next 3 years it would be worth doing IMO but we're getting a 35, 36 and 37 year old Jrue. Lots of players retire in their mid 30s.

Boston is delusional if they think they’ll get compensated to trade Jrue. They’ll be very lucky to not pay themselves to unload him, given that Brooklyn is the only team that can just take him in terms of cap space.

He’s still a positive contributor, at least on defense, but he’s not a 3/105 contributor now, let alone two years from now.

And yeah, as has been stated, we’re very likely not trading for any big contracts, because Tobias is the only biggish contract we might be willing to trade in return, and he’s only 1/26.6 now. And we’d need a starting PF in return. I guess S&T THJ could be another, but he’s not getting a lot of money at this point. Besides that it’s Tek’s 1/8.3 and a bunch of guys we aren’t trading on rookie deals.

KD to me is only worth it if you give up Tobias Fontecchio Sasser and a signed and traded THJr, if u can even do that, with all the 2nds and a protected 1st. doubt Suns do that. Maybe they do, who knows.
Adding Ivey Stew and KD to our playoff rotation over THJr Reed and Tobias would be fantastic.
I think though that we are better off holding onto our draft picks and adding an Aldama or Portis and rolling with an often discussed/disagreed upon 10man rotation.
Or the above pkg I'd trade for Markkanen since he's young and locked up long term :D
No dealing Stew, Ivey, Ausar or Holland.
