Expected as much as I would've liked him back.
Wasn't going to be happy with his roll and got more $$. Can't knock it.

He won't be missed. Cade is the leader of this team. Schroader was on 8 or 9 different teams. Bye bye Dennis

He'll be missed if he's not properly replaced. What he provides was invaluable to their playoff run.

True! But you hope the younger players would have learned from him. Cade is the franchise and a lot of money is tied to him. He has to be the leader of this team, period. Not some aging vet who has been on 9 different teams!

I still think the plan is to have Ivey be the primary "backup". We want one of those 2 guys on the floor at all times. What we probably need is a veteran 3rd stringer who will accept the role, be solid(ish) in limited and a good locker room guy.
I have no problems hanging onto Sasser for another year but I think that only works if we're willing to play him in the Beasley/THj role. He's not a pg.
I'm OK with everything so far. Still a lot of time left and internal development is critical. Get our keys back healthy, show some growth and maybe cash in closer to the trade deadline.

Probably don't have enough $ left to make a run at Dinwiddie to be Schroder's replacement, right?
Not sure Detroit could offer a big enough role to entice the mayor anyways.
I don't know, just spitballin and typing out loud.

Probably my favorite half year piston ever. He got us one playoff win

Sac media stating this could be a sign and trade. I wonder if we could finagle for Monk in that? Going from DS and Beez to Monk and LaVert as backups would be a pretty decent return

I was hoping we'd re-sign him. He brought a lot more than just stats.

Inexcusable if he really got the 2/28 deal that is being reported

Looks like the Kings are trying to squeeze us.
Play hardball. They don’t need Monk and nobody else is trying to get him.

Reportedly Detroit is trying to turn Schroeder leaving into a 3-way to get Duncan Robinson to Detroit...
Duncan Robinson, like THJ, was also a college teammate of LeVert at Michigan... but THJ and Duncan were never teammates as Duncan was after THJ left.
Duncan would certainly fill the role of a volume capable 3 point shooter. I wouldn't be surprised at all if we were already talking to Duncan Robinson about taking our room exception money as a free agent but that could only be about 3 years $28 million and I'm sure he wants more than that.

Where do you see that?
Duncan Robinson just opted out of 20 mill for a season. I don’t think he’ll require that much per year if a team is willing to offer more than one year, but 3/28 doesn’t cut it.

Only $10 million was guaranteed on Duncan deal according to YT podcaster.
Also read this-
While he can potentially return to the Miami Heat by negotiating a new deal, he can also sign with a new team or be part of a sign-and-trade deal.
Some reports indicate that the Detroit Pistons are an Eastern Conference team that has emerged as a potential suitor for Robinson.
Therefore, while he's currently a free agent, his future team for next season is not yet decided.
Not certain if thats enough to get our hopes up, though.

I don’t want Monk
Hopefully something gets worked out where we land Robinson instead. We need his 3 point shooting more than what Monk brings.
