What do you guys think is a realistic Giannis trade that Milwaukee would accept. I know some of you will say don’t trade at all but for those who want this what would a realistic trade look like. Remember Milwaukee has exceeded the first apron so can’t take back more then what they ship out salary wise.

My offer if I’m Detroit is

Ivey, Holland, Tobias, and Lavert is pretty much a straight up money for money deal. Then it’s likely atleast 4 first round picks. 26 28 30 and 32.

Is that a deal people can live with. Does it give us a better shot a title.

Hope you sign Beasley to start at the 2.

What do you guys think realistic trades for him look like and what would they agree to. Don’t forget you must ship out no more then 58 in salaries if it’s just him.

In my opinion, if we’re seriously trying to acquire Giannis, the main piece going out is Duren. It’ll reduce the pick toll, and let us embrace our true identity as a defensive juggernaut. Stew and Reed can handle center minutes for now. Keep Holland, he’s part of that identity.

So Duren, Ivey, Tobias, whatever other salary is needed (preferably Caris) and some picks.

If it came to giving up all that listed above, I would rather role with what we have. Being able to afford depth like the Pistons have done is rare instead of spending it all on two players. Anytime one gets injured, the team would suffer greatly. But, I wouldn't be angry if it happened!

There is no realistic Giannis trade offer unless Giannis wants to come to Detroit specifically- the Bucks I'm sure would prefer to avoid trading him within the division.

The better and more possibly interesting questions are these:

1) What is the maximum you'd give up in a Giannis trade?
2) Who/what is off-limits to you in a Giannis trade?

Duren + Harris + Ivey + LeVert + Sasser + Klintman + 2 picks + 1 swap
For
Giannis + those 2 years of Kuzma + Thanasis + Alex

Then bring back Malik.

The closest thing to a "realistic" non-Cade trade for Giannis is:

Ausar, Duren, Beefstew, Ron, Ivey and all available draft capital (max first rounders, swaps, and second rounders we can trade).

This is Giannis. He's a perinnial top four MVP candidate. You're not getting him unless you unload basically everything.

A much more realistic Giannis trade conversation starts with Cade + capital for GIannis.

Yeah, no, that’s not right. Giannis is about to turn 31. That offer is for Giannis at 23.

One of Duren or Thompson would be included, along with Ivey, Harris and either Holland(if Duren is going) or Stewart(if Thompson is going) and then max allowable picks and pick swaps.

So either

Duren

Harris

Or

Thompson
Stewart
Ivey
Harris

Both along with 4 FRP's and 2 FRP swaps.

Which is a better core four?
Cade/Giannis/Duren/Holland or Cade/Giannis/Thompson/Stewart

If Milwaukee doesn’t value Duren enough to keep the other core pieces (other than Ivey) out of it, I’d pass. Picks, sure, whatever. A Cade/Giannis team would attract cheap ring chasers.

And keep Stew. Any offer with Stew is wrong. His fit with Giannis is exquisite.

Also worth noting about a Duren+Ivey package…. It leaves another roster spot to fill, but those two guys combined will likely be making around Giannis money next season anyway. It doesn’t really cause salary problems.

I hope Langdon tells the guys to be extra team-friendly tonight, lots of cheering and camaraderie and stuff. Auditioning for Giannis.

I feel like Cade likes being the man and likes the guys in his locker room. He's said he thinks Duren is going to be the best big man in the league soon.

I guess he probably is post-prime. He's in incredible physical shape, though, and you figure he's the type of player who can play at a high level for at least another 5 seaons. That said, his injury history is pretty far from spotless, so that's a fair point.

If I'm the Bucks, though, I want *good* draft picks for him and think I can get them, and we don't have those to offer. What I posted is definitely an overpay and (imo) a bad idea from our perspective. But we'd have to beat out teams that have tons of high quality draft assets, which would *require* an overpay, imo.

We have too many guys right now anyway, so not worried about filling the spot. Basically just becomes a spot to make Daniss a full part of the roster.

Yeah, I don't think any Giannis trade works without Duren (both because we'd need Duren's appeal as an asset and because the Duren/Giannis fit is poor) and I'm not sure trading Duren is a remotely good idea in regards to Cade.

i'd offer up duren, ivey, tobias, (filler to match salary sasser, klintman etc.) few picks for giannis and whoever filler they need to add...keep holland and jenkins here.

He might get less than you think, because he almost certainly is only going to have 2 or 3 destinations he is willing to go to. The Bucks aren't going to be able to simply take the best offer out of 29 teams.

100%. If there is a Giannis package being put together, Cade should have a lot of say about it. That probably means his buddy Duren isn't on the table.
