All Time Pistons One on One - Who Wins?

They have to handle the ball, score, defend, and rebound... All players who have at least a single season with detroit, who wins in a playoff competition where you have to lose three times to be eliminated?

Feel like it has to be Hill. That combination of athleticism, playmaking, and size would be really tough to beat one on one.

Yeah, typed that too quickly. He can generate his own scoring opportunities, that is what was on my mind.

I think he's too big for perimeter players to guard and too fast for most bigger players.

I cant Imagine anyone overcoming the drive/desire and sheer will of Isiah Thomas.

Hill/Dantley/Dumars and Bing are also great choices.

Most of these smaller players would have a really hard time stopping 2018-2019 Blake Griffin 1-on-1. He had the size to shoot over, the power and strength to back you down and the handles to beat you off the dribble. He was about as offensively talented and athletic as you're going to get in this league and he had a really healthy MVP type season for us at age 29 in the tail end of his prime for sure.

People forget about Blake because those years were awful... but if you are playing "make it take it" up to 11 I think he's got a solid chance to beat anyone.... specifically Blake for that 18-19 year with Detroit.... Grant Hill never had a 2pt% as high or a 3pt% as high with Detroit as what Blake did with the Pistons that season.

Blake's weakness in comparison to Grant Hill was maybe was creating for others which isn't something that matters 1 on 1.

Blake was actually my first consideration, but I felt a bit dirty actually suggesting it. He gave us some outstanding performances and hard to imagine any of the smaller players having a hope once he posted them up.

Are we taking all of these guys at their peak or the versions they were when they were with us.

2019 Blake can't guard the little guys either. And he's only got an inch (and admittedly 25 pounds) on prime Hill, but also gives up a ton of athleticism.

Besides dunking there is no basketball skill that Blake is superior to Adrian Dantley. He is not even that much bigger in height or strength.

Stackhouse (who is actually taller, more athletic and a longer wingspan) would eat Blake alive and dunk on him every time.

Billups might just stand at the top of the key and shoot wide open 3s since Blake cant leave the paint without giving up a layup.
