when your whole starting frontcourt- Dice, Sheed, Prince doesn't get a single free throw, there's something wrong, sometimes i wish we had a premier slasher at SF, like Pierce...we need more production out of Dice, Tay no doubt, but not a reason to panic

Pierce has been playing amazing defense on everyone this year. Didn't he hold Prince to 5 pts in their first meeting this year in Boston? I'm sure Prince will be fine, he's a really good player.

He has trouble with stronger 3s. Unfortunately... two of the biggest playoff opponents have stronger 3s, Lebron and Pierce...

I have long felt that we need to make an effort to get him involved earlier in games, like in the beginning of the year when Rip was out. He's usually such an effective mismatch and he is able to get down on the block, that we need him to score in a way other than "opportune jumpers"

we are not going to win the championship this year, we WILL lose to boston. Why would the NBA want any other team besides boston in the finals

I agree! A big need is a backup SF that can play strong 1:1 defense. Jarvis isn't the answer here and I don't know if Herrmann can play defense well. He is big and strong at 6'9" but he may not be quick enough to stay with Lebron or Pierce--it is hard to say since he never gets PT. We need someone who can play some mean defense at the SF spot and the only person that comes to mind is Ruben Patterson. He is but can play at the SF spot. Any other ideas?

Even if we had someone who could play "mean defense" at the SF spot, that person wouldn't be on the floor to close out games. Tayshaun is our 3 and he'll continue to be our 3, no backup is going to steal crunch time minutes from him.

Tayshaun's fine. Though he struggles with stronger guys, he still plays better defense than most on them and is pretty damn good on the T-Mac type guys. We don't need to move him and getting a big-time defender at the backup 3 spot won't solve much.
