Bucks/Clips/Pistons TI

Post#1 » by Garbs_7 » Mon Jan 14, 2008 4:34 am

Hi Guys, just wondering what it would take to get Tayshaun to the Bucks. I know he is out of favour here a bit now, but he would be perfect for Milwaukee, considering our SF's are garbage. I think it would have to be a 3 way trade so u can get back a decent SF, what other positions are u looking for help at?

What do u think of this as an idea, I know salaries may be off:

Bucks Send:

Villanueva, Simmons, Bell, 2nd

Bucks Get:

Prince, Ross, Knight

Pistons Send:

Prince, Hayes/Afflalo

Pistons Get:

Maggette, Bucks 2nd

Clippers Send:

Maggette, Ross, Knight

Clippers Get:

Villanueva, Bell, Hayes/Afflalo, Simmons

Like I said, salaries are off, fillers can be thrown around after, just trying to get a general idea of value here. Not sure how high u are on Afflalo, so if u dont wanna lose him, u can make it Hayes. Do u guys even like Maggette as a SF? Thanks

Well if you were trading Prince, who would be some of the SF's you would like back?

Maggette is a mixed bag. On the one hand he brings the aggressiveness and physical strength that Prince is lacking. On the other hand his low bball IQ makes him a poor fit for this ball club. I wouldn't trade Prince for Maggette straight up, let alone include a player like Afflalo. In fact I'm not sure I'd trade anything of value for Maggette, especially considering he's likely to opt out of his contract at years end.

But I'm probably more down on Maggette than some other people on this board. :dontknow:

How about something along the lines of Tay + Maxiell for RJ?

I know RJ is having a huge season, but I've never been sold on RJ & Vince co-existing. I think Tay is actually a better compliment and along with Maxiell & S. Williams (+Kristic when he gets his **** together) they'd have a nice frontline rotation for years. Plus Tay never misses a game, which given NJ's history I'd think they'd look favorably on.

It'd open up a few more minutes for Amir, although we'd pretty much have to bring back CWebb. Wouldn't wanna rely on Amir & Brezec if we get in foul trouble for sustain an injury to Sheed or Dice lol

I'd be more willing to deal Amir rather than Maxiell. If you're going to bring in Jefferson, that means you want to win now. Maxiell is the better win now option, whereas Amir is two years off from any major contribution to the team.

The flip side of that is NJ is looking to win now so Amir holds less value to them. And frankly we probably over value the kid. I doubt anybody else thinks he's worth as much as we do. You have to give to get.

I'd rather have Prince than Maggette, and I'd rather have Hayes or Afflalo then a 2nd. So I would definitely pass on this one.

...and concerning RJ, I'm weary about how he'd play away from Kidd.
Tom Gores' Securus faced a class action lawsuit in 2024. The company engaged in a "quid pro quo kickback scheme" with county jails in Michigan which banned in-person visits in order to maximize revenue from voice and video calls.

I would rather go with Tay/Hayes/Murray for Marvin/Chill/Speedy (I know, repetitive) than take on Magette while also losing Afflalo. I would also rather that deal than taking on RJ's $ and losing Max.

If we could pry AI2 away from Philly, great but I don't think there is a good shot of that.

I as always would love to get Crash (I would offer up Tay/Max for him before RJ) but again don't see how.

Marvin is close to Prince's level now as is Chill, a couple years down the road and Williams should be well passed him.

The team is fine for now but I am curious to see how things pan out down the road.

Not only is it repetitive, but I just don't see how you think it's at all good for Atlanta. They wouldn't even do Marvin for Tay at this point, let alone include Chill for Hayes, regardless of whether they are dumping Speedy in the process or not.

Sorry dude, not trying to be harsh...but the idea of Atlanta giving up both Marvin and Chill just so they can land Tay is way out there. Hayes is little more than a throw in - a very replaceable player.

Atlanta has a lot of contracts needing to be dished out over the next couple years. Smith and Horford will be 1 and 2 in the pecking order I would think. I didn't get enough replies from Atlanta fans to get a better grasp on their thinking. What I read on their boards about dealing Chill for a cheaper replacement and their own fan posting the Tay for Marvin deal that only Piston's fans shot down. Combine those 2 and dump Speedy to boot. I think that they do it or at least think quite a while before declining.

As one Hawk fan recently said (roughly) in response to my Tay/Hayes deal, "I would prefer to keep Marvin but if they did this deal I wouldn't be upset"

We both have our repetitive deals sometimes involving the same guys like Devin Harris and Delonte West last year. I have a bit of an obsessive nature at times and the trade scenarios fortunately or unfortunately fall right into that vein.

So we can agree to disagree at times, all goodz. :D

Not bad, but what concerns me is that RJ has problems with injuries.

I would want Josh Smith, if we were going to do anything with them.

Hmm ok thanks for the responses, i'll have one final crack at a trade idea and then leave you alone.

Bucks Trade:

Villanueva, Simmons, Bell 1st

Bucks Receive:

Prince, Wright

Nets Trade:

Jefferson, Wright

Nets Receive:

Villanueva, Amir, Simmons, Afflalo, Bucks 1st (some protection),

Pistons Trade:

Amir, Prince, Afflalo

Pistons Receive

Jefferson, Bell

Not 100% sure NJ does it, but they get two solid young bigs, a young, talented wing in Afflalo, an overpaid, but useful Simmons and a potential lotto pick. You guys get a stud SF in Jefferson, who I think would fit great at SF for you. Thoughts? Thanks and good luck for the rest of the year[/b]

I'm in the minority but I think Maggette brings to the team exactly what we lack: a physical slasher who can get to the line. Would I trade Prince for him? No, the fact he's going to be a free agent after this season scares me; I do not want to see the Pistons break the bank to keep Corey Maggette.

Bucks_Fan: your trade proposals are not bad at all but they really don't benefit the Pistons much. Our biggest need IMO is the center position; it would be nice to bolster the guard position but were hoping Stuckey will fill that roll. There's really no need to tinker with the SF position, Prince will bounce back.
