My Detroit Piston Needs/Wants, Info, 1st Post!=]

Post#1 » by m23uza1hem36 » Mon Jan 21, 2008 5:41 am

Our starting 5 line up:
Needs: Chauncey Billups, Richard Hamilton, Rasheed Wallace, Antonio Mcdyess

Wants: Tayshaun Prince; Why? Tayshaun has been a great "Contributor" in a way to Detroit in the past few year's, I would personally put him in a player that we need but with the player's being rumored to be traded he could be in some rumors hopefully he won't. Tayshaun is player that could step up on an amateur team and show his actual ability, in Detroit he is a little "scared" to be the man on offense, though I believe he is one of the most talented offensive players on this team, he does not use that talent leading to people believing he is an "bad" player, my opinion Tayshaun has the whole package, he could obviously defend, he could score, he could shoot, could take it inside, his problem is his strength. This is sort of like Kevin Durant's situation the difference Kevin Durant is on a bad team which has no other key offensive player's meaning Kevin could step up to the plate every night when Tayshaun has done so in the past year's he has very much showed his talent, he's struggling very bad this year, he must pick it up come play off time we need this kid to help us in Detroit, he still is a GREAT defender.

Bench:
Needs: J-Max, Rodney Stucky, Chuck Samb, Jervis Hayes,
Wants: Amir Johnson, Arron Afflo

I think Amir is very talented but we have just held on too long, we could have traded earlier for some good talent but he has not done much in the NBA recently which I believe decreased his "Want" value, I think the only way he will really improve is if he gets some serious playing time the way J-Max has the last 2 years which has progressed him greatly.

Arron Afflo: I believe in a few year's this guy will be worth something and could help this team get talent in the future to help Detroit stay a top contender for a long time, I say he is a want because I believe Joe is going to keep him around and wait for the perfect time to shop him, that may not happen for years, but if he turns out as talented as are guards now in Richard and Chauncey I believe he will be on this team in the future in the back court along with Stuckey.

What Pistons will need to do in playoffs this year,
Detroit has to play with massive intensity, they have been inconsistent with that in the regular season but in the playoffs up to the Eastern Conference they just let it go, I think it gets to there heads with the teams they've faced, Miami obviously when they were 64-18, then last year facing a less then "Good" team, it gets to there head and they then believe they are going to cruise to the NBA Finals especially after that streak of 2/3 NBA Finals and now 5 straight East Conference Championship hopefully going for a 6th this year and another trip to the NBA finals.

The key match up people are talking about this year:

Boston Vs Detroit; In my eyes that is going to be the ECF match up when I look at a team in Boston Compared to Detroit this is what I get;

Better Bench? Why? Detroit; Detroit has a younger players, most of Detroit's bench players can spread the floor a lot more then Boston's (Jervis Hayes, Arron Afflo, Rodney Stuckey, Walter Herman).
We also have a better defensive bench (J-Max, Lindsey Hunter).

The Most Experience? How? By far the Detroit Piston's player's come on, that's not even close! =]

More intensity come playoff time? Why? Boston, I think Ray Allen, Paul Peirce, and Kevin Garnett will bring ton's of intensity, I mean look how they celebrated after they beat Detroit, also intensity has been a problem for Detroit recently; let's just hope if these two teams meet that does not happen.

Better Offense? How? I take Detroit because they are such a balanced line up, take some one of the equation for the starting lineup they got 4 other options, take one out of Boston they got two other options, not forgetting about what the bench can do for Detroit.

Better Defense? How? Both teams have a great defense but I choose Boston, I think because of how much of a force KG is down in that block for opposing players, while on Detroit Rasheed is still not the greatest inside force, the way Ben was, when he was in Detroit. I think our guards could to take control vs Boston but our big men could have trouble, where for Boston I think there bigger men have success and there guards will struggle against us.

Better Coached? How? Flip Saunder's by far, Doc Rivers really is not a great coach, he jut got loaded up with the "Big Three" which is why he will probably win coach of the year, Flip is by far the better coach though, he is just better all around, he is also acting much more smarter and looking forward to playoffs not always worrying about the regular season record.

That was my 1st post, they won't all be this long but I had to let that out :D

Sorry for it being so long lol!=] If I wrote something "bad" or not correct, reply and correct me=]

There are no amateur teams in the NBA. You think Prince would be better off on a team in the NBDL?

This is orgaized basketball. Usually the coach draws up the plays.

I want to pick your post apart but it would be pointless for obvious reasons.

When I say "Amateur" team, I mean a struggling young/very-very old team, as in a Memphis, Miami (?), Minnesota, Etc.
