whats the depth chart?
who gets what minutes (your prediction/recommendations)?
****i actually wouldn't mind seeing maxy playing a little bit of 5 sometimes.
how i look at it:
billups/stuckey/hunter
hamilton/lalo/murray
prince/hayes/
dice/maxy/johnson/hermann
sheed/brezec/maxy/samb

I really like Amir right now, he blocked a couple of shots, grabbed some offensive rebounds over Dwight Howard, he looks very energized, he looks like a force inside, I do think he must get "bigger" though.
I don't know how much minute's he's going to get, the Pistons are leading big so that's why I believe he came in.

Yes he is taking Max's minutes.
I'm not buying the competition theory. Flip's CBA championship team only played a 8 man rotation. The T-Wolves 9-12 men never belonged in a rotation so I think he does not have a problem not playing 4 players for weeks at a time.
I am buying into the theory that Flip will never notice that Mad Max will struggle matching up with DHoward, Amare, Bynum, BigZ, and Noah.

Forward Amir Johnson is expected to get more playing time and it will likely come at the expense of Jarvis Hayes, who has been going through a shooting slump.
"He's got to make shots,'' Saunders said of Hayes. "We ended up playing Arron (Afflalo) at the three. Arron has been so good for us defensively we thought we needed his energy and his defense. As we told our guys last week, if you play defense that's how you're going to stay on the floor a lot.''
Saunders said Johnson is going to get more minutes because he's been practicing better and the coaching staff needs to see him in game action."We'll still try to get him in there,'' Saunders said. "The one thing we decided we need to do is see what we have with a lot of those guys. We can't expect to not play them and then playoff time comes and then play them. We might as well find out how some of our guys match up against (Eastern Conference opponents), especially in case there's a chance we play them in the playoffs.''

Max, Afflalo, Amir, Stuckey...
I was thrilled when I saw this lineup (plus Hayes) out there on the floor.
It's what I've been saying for months: in blow-outs, at any point in the game, regardless of which team is ahead, I want to see our young guys play. If the starters can't get it done then perhaps an injection athleticism and energy will. If the starters ARE getting it done, then perhaps the cushion is large enough that a few rookie mistakes won't doom us in the end.

I disagree obviously he cannot match up on defense against them but then again maxiell never will match up with any of them except maybe Noah. Maxiell can still hustle and get boards and like we saw tonight he hit two fade aways with Howard gaurding him. Maxiell is almost always on the court with either Sheed or Dice so he will never need to match up but he is a problem for some of those guys with his hustle and quick moves. I dont worry about Maxiell as long as he has his legs in the playoffs he will be able to play good minutes against any of those big men.

I buy into the theory that Flip will never notice or care about Mad Max's ability to DEFEND against players up to 9 inches taller and 60 lbs heavier.
Hustle does not get contested rebounds in the paint and Mad Max has already been suffering from tired legs (see ND's links) and we are only at the half way point of the season.
Noah kicked the Dice and Mad Max front line in the behind the last 2 times we played his team.
Coaches who ignore matchups while playing undersized front courts have NEVER won a NBA championship.

We'll be alright. There isn't a reasonably priced big out there that could "replace" Sheed anyways. Sheed/Dice/Max/Amir is a nice combo of bigs. A little undersized, but a good combo of Shooters/Athletes, Experience/Energy.
Next year Joe will probably look to grab a cheap defense/rebounding C with some bulk as insurance.
