-35% Were 5 games behind and both teams are playing about as well as on another. The edge has to go to them for now.

-90% Always have to embrace the chance we could falter, but id be surprised if we faltered enough to lose the division.

-5% He could be a decent backup guard by playoff time, but not a playmaker and distrubuter. That will come later if it ever does, which I have doubts about.

**** man we gotta celebrate! Nasty just fired up the time machine, went and watched the finals a few monthes from now and knows whats gunna happen. He just said 75% chance to win it to not totally ruin the surprise. We are gunna be champs!

For what it's worth we're on pace to win about 58 game right now, which is a few more than I expected, but still less than the 60+ Boston appears to be on pace for. It'd take more than us playing well to overtake then, Boston needs to falter.

50%-Dumars is always looking around the league. I see him looking into trades, even if he's not interested in the star, to see if their is a third team needed to make a move and maybe make a slight improvement.

10%- anything is possible, I would never rule it out, but it does seem unlikely.

0%- the same it has been all season. Hopefully he signs soon to another team so the "Webber to the Pistons!!" threads can finally die.

50%- for all the Boston love, they really aren't that impressive. Half way through the season they are at 34-8 (.801), half way through the 05-06 season Pistons were at 37-5 (.902). We have all seen what happens in the second half of the season, and it's already began for Boston who is 5-5 in their last 10. It could go either way at this point. I would hope the Pistons didn't look to take the 1st seed, but if Boston continues to lose winnable games, Pistons could make up 3-4 games.

90% chance. Cleveland is what 7 games back? They aren't nearly the team they were last year. It could happen, but I don't think it will.

20% chance. Stuckey isn't a "legit" PG, he's a combo gaurd who is best when slashing to the basket and kicking out to teammates. But Saunders has him bring the ball up and pass it to Chauncey or Rip and get out of the way.

50% chance. If Saunders continues to play him, he very could be a difference maker. But there's only a 50/50 chance Flip actually plays the kid.

50% chance. Either they do or they don't. I'm not ready to predict any success right now. Not since LB left.

Perhaps he feels Boston or Cleveland has a better shot to beat us than whomever comes out of the West.

I don't see SA winning this year as it is an off year. They never seem to do as well a year after they win the title. Dallas and Phoenix have been pretty soft in the playoffs. New Orleans is new to this whole thing and our nemesis Utah has been floundering.

So if we play Boston/Cleveland it should be a tougher series to get through. If we get past them then all bets are off.

Still the second number should be smaller if looked at from an overall standpoint but I understand where he is coming from.

FWIW I didn't remember the follow up statement. Just tried to make a defensive stance for your possible thought process. That'll learn me.

4% does make MUCH more sense though.

Tough to defend something that violates the basic rules of mathematical probability, though, but you gave as good an effort as good be given to be sure.

I wish I could give us better than a 1/25 shot, but thats how I see it right now. Boston and a number of teams out West all have a better crack at it than we do. All in all, I havent seen much that suggests well see much different results than the previous 2 preseasons.

The bench is starting to look suspiciously like last years, recent starter minutes have gone up some (as I predicted they would as our schedule got more difficult), and the team seems to have the same issues it has had.

Of course Ill watch the rest of the season and playoffs just as eagerly as everyone else, just in case my assessment is way off.

What can I say, I like to play Devil's Advocate even if certain universal laws fly in the face of a sensible argument.
