According to the wiretap, Seattle seems to have no use for him. If that's the case, Flip Murray plus a 2d rounder or two might be of interest to Seattle. West is a free agent after this season and thus would basically be a rent-a-player. I'd like to have another backcourt veteran we could count on for the playoffs & West plays either position.

Or put another way, if Billups is hurt or in foul trouble, do you feel confident (at this time---hopefully not in the future) of Stuckey or Hunter running the offense?

I could dig on getting a 'Delonte for crap' deal as long as it doesn't hinder Stuckey's development.

I would pass on him, i understand the point you are trying to make as a back up for Chauncey, but i feel it will take Stuckeys minutes. Plus we also have Hunter on the inactive list, just waiting for those games, were Flip thinks he can use him for his defense.

Nasty speaks the truth. Stuckey needs to play, Hunter can be brought in for D.

But right now, we need to commit to Stuckey and Afflalo backing up the G positions.

No, mostly for the Stuckey thing...but partially because I think he would make a great addition to Charlotte.

I like West, I think he was putting up 12/6 before Boston traded him. Pretty much a poor mans Billups, just younger with some upside. He is right now where Stuckey will be after 2-3 years in the league. IF we are trying to win 1-3 more rings in the Rip/CBill/Sheed era then he would be a better fit than Stuckey I believe.

Delonte is still young and was highly thought of as an up and coming pg two years ago. There is no way I pass on this deal.

I would take a Delonte for cap space deal in a heartbeat, I like Delonte's game and I am not sure why he doesn't fit with the Sonics but I am of the opinion that Stuckey is better suited for the sg position at this point anyway, the downside is it means less of a role for Afflalo for this year but seeing that Hayes is on a one yr deal it means that he probably take over at the SF next season

Dumars job isn't necessary to win a title but to be competitive & profitable year in & year out. The 3 main reasons stuckey is our backup pg & 2nd guy off the bench

1. Davidson runs the pistons like a business & will not allow luxury tax cutting into revenue.

2. JoeD wants to be better prepared for the future even if its hurting the present. Anybody think a rookie pg playing in the playoffs is smart. Or what about a bench of sg(rookie) sf(expiring) pf(youngster, then 1st year pro & C (expiring) luckily hes got a fairly talented bench of rooks & expirings. That usually never happens the nba. But out of that bunch whos proven or playoff tested? Who can step up & be a major contributor in the big game(maybe maxiell)? My point is this team really isn't built to win a title but to be competitive & better prepared for tomorrow. Every decision made this offseason wasn't meant for a ship.

3. Pretty much relates to above. Stuckey has a 5 year contract at 1.5, 1.7, 1.8, 2.7, & 3.8mil. To stay under the cap & be a championship caliber team you need great contracts. Usually there mle starters or long rookie contracts where hes a starter or atleast 7th man. The sooner stuckey develops into a 6th man (hopefully starter) the easier it is for dumars to keep a talented roster together.

I'm fairly certain that Delonte West's defense is superior to Lindsey's at this point.
I'd take him for that and that alone.

and if we are going to consider trading Rip after this season, I'm fairly certain a transition period with Billups/Afflalo and Stuckey/West at the guard positions wouldn't *hurt*. But this is only hypothetically speaking.
