37-13 record gives Detroit the second best record in the NBA.
3 all-stars
For the first time ever we're playing all our young guys
Stuckey - Afflalo - Amir - Maxiell
We are flying "under the radar" with Boston getting all the props, and teams like LA and Phoenix making noise due to trades.
Complacency hasn't been a big issue like in years past. We had one poor 3-6 stretch but part of that was the young bench guys (especially Stuckey/Max) having some struggles and most of us will take that. We have bounced back great.
We even helped our future cap situation by getting rid of Nazr's contract for expirings.
How can any Pistons fan not be happy with our first 50 games?

How long did Flip sign on for?
We let Carlisle go after a 2 year contract, and we let Larry Brown move on to greener pastures in NY after two years and two trips to the NBA finals.
I think when its clear your goal is to win a championship regular season success doesn't mean job security.

IMO Mr Davidson does not have to justify firing Flip to anyone. Flip came here and inherited a team that was 10 minutes from repeating as champions.
Flip has flopped with a playbook he wrote that won a CBA championship 15 years ago. His Zone Defense theory was great for the TWolves. they didn't have but 3 players at any given time while he was there who were great defenders.
His rotations have been pitiful because Joe D has given him a squad that should let 10 people see the floor before mop up minutes but he insists on playing Mr McNice over 30 minutes a game.
BTW are you one of the many posters on this forum who was unaware of the fact that The Palace was built in its entirety with Mr Davidson's money.
This Detroit resident loves to go to both Shock and Piston games and feels Mr D has paid the cost to be the boss.
Judging from a comment he made last fall that he was tired of paying coaches who no longer coached the Pistons (Larry Brown settlement) Flop may already be on borrowed time this May if he insists on sticking to what has not worked the previous 2 postseasons.

I agree that these two guys were the big "letdowns" for Pistons fans but with their play the last 5-10 games I think most of us are happy with what they have given us lately, and are confident with their roles these next 32 games.
