I was 15, an impressionable youth. Was browsing the ESPN forums for some inexplicable reason. Saw a link from someone using the trade checker from Realgm, eventually decided to join up.
The end!

I was looking for a NBA message board that had sub-forums for each team. Google found me plenty, but this was the only one I found that had considerable activity.
I lurked for nearly a year before I registered.

Was listening to local radio host (national now) Steve Saban an dhe said it was the best NBA website in the world and some its posters knew more about the NBA than most GMs.

Was looking for basketball message boards for the then upcoming 05 season. The ESPN boards were full of idiots, homers and trolls so I just had to get out of there. One google search later brought me here.

I always thought it strange that anyone with knowledge of Realgm would post on the ESPN boards, yet they seem to use the trade checker at times (though thats probably less now with the advent of the "trade machine" ripoff.
