OT - Working Out - Creatine???

Alright so I've never really worked out too much. I've done a little bit in high school while playing soccer and basketball... and a little bit in college.

But I've never used anything to supplement my workouts before.

So I've started working out again regularly (3 days per week) and right now all I'm doing is taking EAS myoplex protein shakes on workout day.

I'm thinking about getting some creatine from GNC. I'm wondering if anyone here has any suggestions or anything as far as creatine goes.

Well it makes you have to **** like 5 times a day, thats one of the side effects. I'm trying super hard to get into really good shape but I don't trust creatine. Your body naturally produces creatine to help give your muscles energy and therefore, make them stronger by working out. When you start taking supplements of creatine, your body stop producing it naturally, because it basically doesn't have too. It will make you bigger, faster, but it takes a long time for your body to start producing creatine again if you decide to stop using it. I would stay away from it just because I don't like the idea of stopping my body from producing something that I ultimately need, because I'm obviously not going to take supplements when I'm 70 years old, and if my body can't produce creatine naturally, then my body will just get weaker, faster.

Thats just the way I feel about it though. I would just say also have a decent amount of protein on your off workout days too, because your muscles repair themselves the next day as well as the same day after working out. So by taking more protein on your off days, your giving your body more fuel to repair the muscles and therefore, making them bigger, faster. It all depends on your body type though. Just don't take too much protein too fast, or else its gonna end up in your gut.

Be careful what Creatine you take as I've used different brands throughout the years and actually felt terrible side effects like dizzyness, particularly with Weider brand. Take plenty of water throughout your workout and throughout the day. It also helps to increase your Potassium intake as Creatine tends to dehydrate your muscle fibers and cause cramps.

I use Redline during cardio days in combination with Lipo 6 to cut. The only other supplement I take is Protein Shake by EAS and proper nutrition. That's about it.

If you're just starting out, I suggest you put off Creatine for now and instead concentrate on proper nutrition and practice good FORM. Don't rely on Creatine and other supplements until you know your body that well. good luck :)

trust me ive been around body builders all my life my dad owned the powerhouse gym in southfield. You really dont need the creatine a good post workout meal with alot of protien should do you well and like you said protien shakes.Just stick to a low carb high protien diet with the most of your carbs on days you primarily do cardio. If you insist on supplements there not all bad but you should do your reasearch and going to a forum isnt exactly the best idea your gonna get alot of diffrent answers. I take animal pump to help me focus and get intense.

Just lift weights, run and eat healthy. Theres no need to force your body and take random supplements.

stick to creatine that DOES NOT have 5842335545536 grams of sugar in it!

IT WILL NOT MAKE YOU STRONGER, unless you have the will power to utilize the creatine. It will give a few extra reps that you normally wouldnt be able to do. There going to be tuff reps though. Fight through it.

drink 95425548 gallons of water & decide if you will take 3 or 4 servings a day(annoying) for 10-20 days or spread out a serving a day for a month(takes 3-5 weeks to fell benefits). Stick to what you decide.

If you drink, quit drinking while your loading your body with creatine

IMO take a 1/2 serving of creatine 30min before the workout & a 1/2 serving right after you workout. It worked better for me this way. I dont know the science behind it but a a friend I trust told me it works better & it actually did. It could have just been a mental thing

Best thing to take creatine with is grape juice. Take it about 1/2 before your workout and don't over do it because it will create kidney stones if you take to much.
