You know, I wouldn't mind bringing in Eddy Curry.

I know he's terrible defensively and doesn't grab boards, but I think being mentored by a guy like Rasheed could improve those. I mean, not making him All Defensive Team or anything like that, but I think Rasheed does a good job mentoring the younger players.
Plus, I like the idea of adding a 25 year old Center.
However, this is very, very, very, very unlikely to happen.
As in never.

I'd trade Jason Maxiell, Primoz Brezec, Ronald Murray, and Walter Herrmann for Eddy Curry without a second thought.
Eddy Curry turned 25 two months ago, is 6'11" 280lbs legit center and has averaged 19/7 in the league before. I'd be very curious to see him playing for our veteran laden team in a professional organization and think he could be another Dumars steal if he did pull it off.
We don't have our center of the future, and picking late every year we're never going to get it and surely won't get one though FA or via trade without paying though the nose. Curry could play with all three or our bigs as they're all PF's more than CE's, would give us a wide load to throw at other true bigs and if he works out he and Amir could be our front court of the future.
Ultimate buy low candidate. Maxey is a career sixth/seventh man and will likely be leapfrogged by Amir for the starter spot. Since Amir and Maxey are likely future PF's only, that means Maxey will be solely a PF back-up getting 13 minutes a game.
Antonio McDyess|Amir Johnson
Rasheed Wallace|Eddy Curry|Cheikh Samb

I think Curry is the anti Piston- he's out of shape, doesnt work hard, cannot hustle, and doesnt defend. Thats who he is, and I doubt that would change. Dumars like players with a certian mentality, a grit and toughness to them, Curry doesnt have that. If anything Curry's mentality embodies the very complacency that JOey D is trying to fight.

No.
Any big man we get MUST play defense and rebound. At the very least they need to do one of them really well.
This is non-negotiable.
Hey is there some way we can get Kurt Tho... err... crap, never mind.

I'm just not ready to write off a kid who quite possibly never learned how it is to be a NBA pro. He was a highschooler draft pick of Chicago, and played there until he was the ripe old age of 22, had a heart condition and went to the mess of a franchise that is the Knickerbockers.
I think this would be a low risk, potentially huge reward type of acquisition. We have nothing to lose save a career back-up and a few expiring contracts.

He makes way too much money, doesn't he? If he had a reasonable contract I'd be willing to at least look at it; this team isn't going to be shaped by Eddy freaking Curry; it could, however, reshape him. Nobody goes to the NYKnicks and 'revitalizes' their career - this team, however definitely DOES revitalize careers.
Ugh am I really pining for Eddy Curry now? Ugh.

He makes less than or equal to (or close) to every starter on our team save McDyess.
