If its just Brezec for Dixon this trade makes no sense at all for Detroit. I just don't get it.

Doesn't make sense unless Detroit traded Murray for Magloire or something...

DOESNT MAKE TOO MUCH SENSE 4 T-DOT EITHER

...Well I certainly hope we got a Magliore type player in a seperate deal. We need size - not Juan Dixon...

I like it.
We could use more pop off the bench and this would shift Affalo to more a defensive specialist. I assume once Murray is waived, Joe will sign a big man.
Darko 2.0 sucked anyhow

Unless we see Samb as better than Brezec and wanted to move him into uniform...
Joe D did say this is a guards league, but this is bordering on ridiculous.

Makes no sense.
The only thing I can think of is that Dixon makes a little bit less money, and since we're so close the the luxury tax level this could save us just enough to sign a FA without going into the tax this year.
Beyond that who knows why we would do this.

Yeah we have one player on our team who realistically could play center in the west, that is troubling

Are we really flipping out about the loss of Primoz Brezec? He never played and certainly wouldn't have in a tightened playoff rotation. Add to that the fact that we no longer have to go through Shaq in the East and there's no need to have big guys rotting on the bench.
Talent-wise, I think it's a good trade. That said, I have no clue what the contract situation/length is, so it can't really be evaluated until then.

Possibly
He couldn't be any worse than Brezec.
Edit: I replying to Low Ki, not you. Sorry

i'm just concerned at the lack of a tall Center in case the crisis mode hits.
Dixon is an expiring, right?

Is this official?

Well, think about this for a second...
If Brezec were still around and any of the top 3 big men got injured, you'd have Amir there to step in and play. That would be a big drop-off, certainly, but it would be passable. Brezec probably wouldn't play more than garbage minutes even in that situation.
And if two of the top 3 big men get injured, well, we're just screwed.

Brezic makes 2.8, Dixon 2.6

I guess that Dixon could start for us if Billups went down and keep Stuckey and Hunter in their current roles. But with Billups healthy, how do you spread the PG minutes around? Weird trade.
