What to expect from Dixon

Raptors fan here, just giving you a heads up on Juan Dixon

Pros:
-when he's hot he's very hot
-scores in bunches
-can sort of play PG has pretty good handles
-pretty good shooter
-mentally tough

Cons:
-when he's cold look out
-to small to play SG
-his D isn't the greatest although I'm sure that won't be an issue with your team
-streaky shooter

Juan is a very interesting player, he'll either come in and give you a pure offensive boost, or come in and stink the whole place up.

I think this trade will prove to be useful for both teams, and if it doesn't it's only for another few months anyways.

Basically we've found our Lindsay Hunter replacement should we desire to re-sign him after this end of season audition

Thanks, but protip: He wont play in Detroit a whole lot. I expect the end of the pine to come to a finely polished tone with his ass.

Thats it. This is a non-move if I have ever seen one.

This is based on absolutely nothing, but if I had to guess I'd say these 2 things happened.

1) Joe told Flip that if he wasn't able to move him he'd waive or buy him out after the deadline.

2) Brezec quietly asked that if he weren't going to be used to be moved. Joe usually tries to acquiesce when he's able to do so.

So, Dixon gives us the insurance that Flip would have been, and at no real additional cost. But also with no real tangible impact. But like I said, that is total conjecture on my part and based on nothing other than me not being able to come up with any other reasonable explanation for the trade. Unless Joe was just trying to do somebody a solid. :dontknow:

Raps fan here
From Dixon you can expect a guy who loves looking for his shot, ends up jacking up a lot of shots, most of the time being a pretty inconsistent shooter, but every now and then being on fire and hitting everything. In other words, if I was a Pistons fan, I would hope that he never sees the floor. Good character guy though.

Wiz fan here. Ditto what the Raps are reporting. When he's on-fire (seldom) leave him in there, when he's not, get him the hell out of there.
Juan's a good guy to have in at the end of games also because he's money at the FT line, and can also hit the trey.

Juan Dixon sucks. I fully expect him to be gone in the not-too-distant future.

That's what I expect out of him. A view of his backside as it goes out the door.

Tony Delk actually played really well for us when he got here and then for some reason saw his minutes cut heading into the post-season and that really killed is productivity.

I actualy expect him to get a chance to be Rips backup. I dont know if he will run with it and actually succeed, but if Joe is swapping similar expirings and getting rid of big men i have to imagine he has a plan for Dixon.

I really don't mind this move. He gives us a smaller, but better version of Hayes. Chances are, one of them is going to be hitting their shots each game, so we have to streak shooters, but when one of them is on fire, they are really on fire.

Won't Dixon be on the inactive list if we sign another big? I'm sure Hermann will be on the bench for defensive purposes.

I think it will depend on the match-up from game to game. I also expect Afflalo to lose PT to Dixon. So it could be Aaron who is inactive.

Lately the active roster has been:
Billups/Stuckey
Hamilton/Afflalo
Prince/Hayes
McDyess/Johnson/Hermann
Wallace/Maxiell
and Primoz or Hunter has been active, with Samb and Murray always inactive.
I assume that Dixon rounds out the 12 for now, but one of Afflalo/Johnson/Hermann gets snubbed for Lindsey come playoff time.

If we sign a bigman I have NO idea what will happen.
