As much as we all wanted to get rid of him, I think this is horrible for the Pistons. Not only does it help bolster the Celtics bench, but it's like having a spy in your organization go to the other side. Hope this doesn't happen...

I find it comical. A guy who couldn't get off the bench for us is going to be a rotation player for our biggest rival.

Has this been rumored? That would not be fun, he probably has a grudge on us for not allowing him to play, I guess he would be like a "spy". Remember though he's offensive minded, that's not what Boston wants, they want a true PG. That will pass and score. Flip only looks to score most of the time and grabs steals on the defensive end.

Better Murray than Brent Barry or Sam Cassell...

I think Boston would be more inclined to wait and see the status of Cassell, before going after Flip IMO.

A spy? I think thats a little to critical of the potential signing. The only thing he'll give them insight into is the lacquer being used on the lockers and what the towels are made of.

Barry could help the Celtics. So could Cassell.

Murray would sit on the bench there - he's worse than House.

Really, if he ends up in Boston, good for him, I could care less.

Flip is hit or miss. Always has been. He'll usually bury somebody, you just don't know which team. I wouldn't really wanna see a hot Flip playing against us in a Celts uniform. He gives them another ball handler/scorer and somebody who can potentially help against the trap.

But IF he's the piece to put the Celts over us then we have bigger problems lol

As far as him being a spy, this isn't the 1950's.
With scouting and video tape there hardly anything that isn't known about opposing teams.

On second thought, what if Dumars gave Flip some extra cash to be a double agent? As part of the plan maybe Dumars told Flip that when/if he gets picked up by Boston to be a ball hog and not pass the ball to his teammates.

Judging by Murray's me-first attitude on offense while with the Pistons, I really wonder just how much he really understood the offense.
He didn't *play* like he knew the play-book well enough to compromise the Piston's playbook.

and besides, the Celtics have 55+ games of tape they can watch if they really want insight into our style.

Him being quick on the trigger doesn't automatically mean that he didn't understand the play book.

Saunders has been through trades before. The coaching staff should know how to handle the play books, hand signals, and stuff.

The sad thing about Flip Murray is he could be a good player if he would buy into the team concept. Maybe if he went to Boston Garnett, Peirce and Allen might be able to get through to him. I dunno.

I really don't think he worse than House.

We will most likely pick him up if Cassell doesn't get bought out. But Cassell is currently negotiating a buyout with the Clips.

That's interesting about the Clippers, since this (also released today) says the Pacers are expected to sign Flip tomorrow.

He should sign with the Clippers. He'd probably get more playing time and perhaps even earn a strong role on their team for next season as either a starting PG (if Livingston can't recover) or a back-up 1/2. It is the perfect situation for him. A team playing for nothing that he can go to, hog the ball, score a lot and increase his value

Flip to Indy?? Where the hell did this come from...and why would Indy want him?
