'Smack Talk Thread'?

Should we sticky a 'Smack Talk Thread'?

I think it could be quite fun and a good place to vent as well as giving trolls a fitting place to post and take a verbal beatdown.

It's definitely a fun idea, but it kind of legitimizes trolling onto our board. Also think of it this way; if a poster wants to come over a talk some sh*t before a game, he should do so on the game thread. Smack talk is appropriate in certain cases and can be considered even a necessity come playoff time. But I don't like the idea of enticing poster to come here for that purpose.

I think it would be entertaining for a week, maybe two. But afterwards it'll just become annoying.

While i like the idea to a degree, and it is original, it worries me that this would rile up tempers and result in warnings/suspensions.

Im not sure im all for this, but im willing to listen

What do my fellow mods/posters say?

I say no, actually.

Id go so far as to call it a terrible idea, for the reasons RUSSIAN LIGHTNING posted.

We dont have a big problem with trolls at the moment compared to other boards(though this will change by playoff time), and I dont see the need to play with fire by creating such a thread, let alone drawing attention to it by stickying it. Seems to legitimize something that shouldnt be going on at all on these boards.

I was thinking playoff time would be 'ALL CAPS LOCKS ALL THE TIME' in honor of the departed YKHIR. :o

I didn't figure this would be an idea that could gain momentum as we have a pretty laid back board, had to give it a try none the less out of sheer curiousity.

Sheed would dig it though.

Well the Boston game is coming up so I expect A LOT of trolling and personally Id rather it be contained in a thread like this where I can ignore it than in the game thread because Id have to read it and feel compelled to respond

Then let's just have a separate thread before every Boston game just to mock them.

Im sure the trolls will be kind enough to restrict their activities to a thread designated by those who they seek to annoy.

Unless, of course, you expect we mods to keep tabs on this constantly and move every trolling remark into said thread? This idea will not serve its desired purpose, and, if it has any impact at all will only serve to draw the wrong sort of attention to our board.

And on minor side note: Lets keep the "pussy" comments to a minimum, shall we? Im not one to take such comments personally, but they add nothing to discussion.

I dont really see this thread going anywhere good.

This entire discussion is besides the point anyway. Even if we wanted to, nobody here has the authority to make a thead and declare in it that the rules of Realgm no longer apply.
