I believe it's a full 48 ours from when he was officially waived, not counting weekends as the league office is closed. I believe I read somewhere 6pm tonight or something.
Rip Hamilton is a stain on the Pistons franchise.

^So
Billups/Stuckey/Hunter*
Hamilton/Dixon/Afflalo
Prince/Hayes/Hermann*
McDyess/Johnson/Samb*
Wallace/Maxiell/Ratliff
?
Or would Ratliff take all of the backup C minutes, moving Maxiell exclusively over to PF, and Amir out of the rotation entirely?
I can't tell if Afflalo or Dixon is the real backup SG right now.

This is how I see it..
C- Sheed, Dice, Theo
PF- Dice, Jmax, Amir
SF- Tay, Hayes, Hermann
SG- Rip, Dixon, Afflalo
PG- CB, Stuckey, Dixon (Hunter in playoffs)

Personally I'd rather see Hermann over Hayes.... and Theo take over all of the backup 5 minutes (reduce Dice minutes).

As expected, veteran center Theo Ratliff cleared waivers at 2 p.m. and has signed a prorated $1.3 million contract to finish the season with the Pistons.

The only thing pending were the results of his physical, which he took at 3:30 p.m.

Ratliff will travel with the team to Boston, but won't dress. He won't be activated until Friday night when the Pistons play at New York. Most likely, he would replace Walter Herrmann on the active roster.Depending on his health, the Pistons will consider bringing Ratliff back as their fifth big man next season. Ratliff, 34, was drafted by the Pistons in 1995. He has only played 12 games the last two years because of knee and back injuries. By all accounts, he is healthy again. He played in nine games last month for the Timberwolves, averaging 6.3 points and 3.9 rebounds.

Listening to Flip on the radio before the tipoff before the Seattle game, he seemed quite pleased in the acquisition of Ratliff, he also said that it gives them another guy to fill the middle up, especially if we played Cleveland, to stop Lebron from driving, with his shot blocking skills, also he mentioned that he could defend the likes of Howard and KG on the outside and bang in the post.

I like Hermann a lot, he's better than Hayes. However, Joe is a man of his word, and he brought Jarvis in and most likely made a promise to him. Putting him on the IR would be a slap in the face to Jarvis.
