There are wing scorers galore in the league to be covered. But losing guard Raja Bell to an ankle injury is coming just as Phoenix is heading into a stretch when Bell would have covered Houston's Tracy McGrady Saturday and Detroit's Richard Hamilton and Boston's Ray Allen to start next week's road trip.
Bell will be day-to-day after Saturday's game, which he is expected to miss because of the right ankle he sprained Wednesday at Seattle. Suns guard Leandro Barbosa will start in Bell's place, setting up a difficult rearrangement of defensive assignments. Because Suns forward Grant Hill slides to McGrady, Barbosa likely will have to start the game guarding 6-foot-8, 220-pound Rockets forward Shane Battier.

We match up extremely well against them, and the only way they'll beat us is to get our bigs in foul trouble (considering the fact that we are deeper now, and Amare still relies too much on his jumpshot due to losing some of his explosiveness, I doubt this will hurt as much).
Hopefully it's a blowout and we can reassemble the SAMB SQUAD!
This is the beauty of the NBA. There's no time to dwell on bad losses, such as Detroit's 95-83 loss at Washington. Instead, their thoughts must immediately fast forward to the next game, which will be tonight against the red-hot Phoenix Suns.
And the Suns will likely come in with a little extra motivation after Detroit pummeled them, 116-86, when the two teams met last month. The 30-point margin of victory was the largest ever by the Pistons over the Suns. And Phoenix's newest acquisition at the time, Shaquille O'Neal, struggled all game and finished with seven points and 11 rebounds. "It's only my third game with the guys and I'm learning a little bit," O'Neal said at the time. "We'll be fine."
He was right. The Suns will enter the game with a seven-game winning streak, the longest current streak in the NBA. Their recent play, coupled with what happened the last time the two met, should make for yet another stiff challenge for Detroit. "They're gonna be hungry," Pistons forward Rasheed Wallace said. "We just have to go out there and do it, keep it simple."
Suns guard Raja Bell, who missed Saturday's game because of a right-ankle sprain, participated in three-on-three play at Sunday's practice. His playing status was upgraded to questionable for Monday's game by Suns head athletic trainer Aaron Nelson.
"He looked pretty good," D'Antoni said. "He moved pretty well."
A determination on Bell will be made after this morning's shootaround. If he can't go, Barbosa would start again.

Suns.com (Bob Adlhoch) reports: What a difference a couple of weeks can make. The Suns have not just won 7 straight, but have won them in a multitude of impressive ways. They beat the Evil Empire two weeks ago in a playoff-style slugfest that has become the Spurs
Suns guard Raja Bell will return to the starting lineup tonight when Phoenix plays at Detroit.
Bell missed Saturday's home victory against Houston because of a right ankle sprain he suffered in the previous game Wednesday at Seattle."He's good," Suns coach Mike D'Antoni said after today's late morning shootaround at the Palace of Auburn Hills. "He was bouncing around and shooting."
Tonight's game is Phoenix's first of four road games over six days, including Wednesday at Boston, Friday at Philadelphia and Saturday at New Jersey. The Suns have the league's longest active winning streak at seven games.
Juan Dixon doesn't know how he did it, but sometime inthe last week he injured his left calf. He sat out Monday's game and will be questionable for the game Wednesday in Toronto.
The injury hastened Lindsey Hunter's return to active duty. He hasn't played since helping the Pistons win in San Antonio on Jan. 10.
The Pistons will be short-handed in the backcourt tonight with Richard Hamilton (left hip) and Juan Dixon (left calf) both out.
The Suns look to match a season high with their eighth straight win when they open a daunting four-game road trip against the Central Division-leading Detroit Pistons on Monday.
Phoenix (47-22) has only two road victories - at Portland and Seattle - during its seven-game streak, and it will see much tougher competition over the next week. After Detroit (49-20), the Suns visit league-leading Boston on Wednesday, red-hot Philadelphia on Friday and New Jersey Saturday.
The Pistons, who have the second-best defense in the league (90.8 ), have won three straight home games, and 13 of their last 15 at the Palace of Auburn Hills.
