There are wing scorers galore in the league to be covered. But losing guard Raja Bell to an ankle injury is coming just as Phoenix is heading into a stretch when Bell would have covered Houston's Tracy McGrady Saturday and Detroit's Richard Hamilton and Boston's Ray Allen to start next week's road trip.

Bell will be day-to-day after Saturday's game, which he is expected to miss because of the right ankle he sprained Wednesday at Seattle. Suns guard Leandro Barbosa will start in Bell's place, setting up a difficult rearrangement of defensive assignments. Because Suns forward Grant Hill slides to McGrady, Barbosa likely will have to start the game guarding 6-foot-8, 220-pound Rockets forward Shane Battier.

Phoenix is playing great, Shaq, Amare & Nash are all on the same page now. This is going to be a tough game.

This is probably a W. Since we're a jumpshooting team anyways, Shaq "Interior Defense" if you can call it that, is useless. We match up extremely well against them, and the only way they'll beat us is to get our bigs in foul trouble (considering the fact that we are deeper now, and Amare still relies too much on his jumpshot due to losing some of his explosiveness, I doubt this will hurt as much).

Hopefully it's a blowout and we can reassemble the SAMB SQUAD!

are jump shots haven't been going in latelt and people dunk on us at will. bad recipe facing shaq.

And the Suns will likely come in with a little extra motivation after Detroit pummeled them, 116-86, when the two teams met last month. The 30-point margin of victory was the largest ever by the Pistons over the Suns. And Phoenix's newest acquisition at the time, Shaquille O'Neal, struggled all game and finished with seven points and 11 rebounds. "It's only my third game with the guys and I'm learning a little bit," O'Neal said at the time. "We'll be fine."

He was right. The Suns will enter the game with a seven-game winning streak, the longest current streak in the NBA. Their recent play, coupled with what happened the last time the two met, should make for yet another stiff challenge for Detroit. "They're gonna be hungry," Pistons forward Rasheed Wallace said. "We just have to go out there and do it, keep it simple."

Suns guard Raja Bell, who missed Saturday's game because of a right-ankle sprain, participated in three-on-three play at Sunday's practice. His playing status was upgraded to questionable for Monday's game by Suns head athletic trainer Aaron Nelson.

"He looked pretty good," D'Antoni said. "He moved pretty well."

A determination on Bell will be made after this morning's shootaround. If he can't go, Barbosa would start again.

Phoenix has been playing great against mediocre opponents, but our team matches up with them (Shaq and all) very well. I like our chances.
